Vote your Top 5 in order with favorite being number 1 and so on down through 5. The number 1 album is worth 5 points, number 2 album 4 points, etc. Voting ends Sunday morning. Winner will be announced shortly after.

I'm picketing this thread cause I can't put OB4CL in the #1 spot and Chronic in the #2.

Plus there's too much rock drums and guitars in most of these albums.

Big Pun shouldn't have won either, sorry ETW.

The biggest laughable laugh about the nerdiest UGHH nerdy nerd where history doesn't matter was The Chronic.

You would have thought Pete Rock & CL Smooth were from Canada the way no mask celebrates the fake news victory on a Jewish hip hop defunct ghost town website.

But I love this place so...Go Lakers!

Who was your pick in '98 NWS?

The Chronic was a game changer but this forum notoriously has always had bias against the west coast so it's only natural it gets hated on.

Aquemini, one of the most forward thinking hip hop albums of all time.

Here's my comments on Big Pun winning:

The skits and persona of the album are all bitten from Biggie.

Like others have mentioned, he tried to be a G Rap clone.

There is some God awful songs like I'm Not a Player.

The best beat, a west coast beat at that, was already used in a much better way.

And his 2nd album was so fucking bad that this album was exposed for what it was, average at best.

FTR, Aquemini is 1000 times better than Capital Punishment. But Pun died, so yeah.

I think i voted Outkast second in '98. Such a great album. Pun would've been my sixth choice in this round. Those early 90's albums do nothing for me nowadays.

Clock - looking at my collection for 1998, top 10 personal classics, in order:

Aquemini
Moment Of Truth
Daz - Retaliation
Cocoa Brovaz
The Swarm
Scaramanga
Pete Rock - Soul Survivor
Magnum Force
RZA
Omid

This is based on our "replay value" voting system.

Out of all the years we did, '98 was the most nostalgic for me in terms of revisiting albums from that year.

This was the final round...

Big Pun - Capital Punishment
Pete Rock - Soul Survivor
Killah Priest - Heavy Mental
M.O.P. - First Family 4 Life
Onyx - Shut Em Down
Gang Starr - Moment of Truth
Method Man - Tical 2000: Judgement Day
Aceyalone - A Book Of Human Language
Xzibit - 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz
Sunz Of Man - The Last Shall Be First
Black Star - Black Star
La The Darkman - Heist Of The Century
Heiroglyphics - 3rd Eye Vision
Cappadonna - The Pillage
Noreaga – N.O.R.E.
Outkast – Aquemini
Rza - RZA as Bobby Digital in Stereo
DMX - It's Dark and Hell Is Hot
Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill
Killarmy - Dirty Weaponry
Kool G Rap - Roots of Evil
Wu-Tang Killa Bees – The Swarm
Busta Rhymes - E.L.E.

I was a full fledged Wu fanboi during that time and '98 was peak for Wu Fam.
