Actually NWS mentioned it once...

some_text

“GOOD MORNING VIETNAM 2 - THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE” by DRASAR MONUMENTAL & MF GRIMM picks right up from the war torn battlefield remnants of their previous release (GOOD MORNING VIETNAM 1)....

They prove a sophomore jinx does not exist by creating their own world that is flooded with warlord bars, sinister tales of MC supremacy, political unrest, and detailed crime sagas...

The production this time around is more cinematic, detailed, and heavily constructed with sample abuse that instantly sweeps the listener into a hardcore Hip Hop abyss that refuses to let you come up for air....

Take a journey with deadly duo as they demonstrate that Hip Hop is alive and well in 2013....

1. The Bear
2. 20%
3. Khun Sa
4. Golden Triangle
5. Caged Bird
6. Check Em
7. Economic Deprivation
8. Percy Carey
9. Saga
10. What Went Wrong?
11. Burning Daylight

Album sampler...

Part 1 was dope as fuck...

Yo NWS and/or Wicked you ever get your hands on this shit? Vinyl only release so hoping at least one of you heads copped it.

^The first one dropped around this time last year. I found out about it a few months later. This second one just came out a couple weeks ago. Vinyl only though and it hasn't leaked so haven't had a chance to peep it. Eagerly anticipating hearing this album.

I don't know why the video i posted of the album skips right to 11:48 when you push play so just rewind it to the beggining <------ My way of justifying bumping this thread.

As a longtime Grimm fan, I can honestly say that the first Good Morning Vietnam features what might be the best rhyming of Grimm's career. Dude just absolutely spazzed on that album. Impressed the hell out of me. Haven't peeped the second one yet, but plan to do so obviously.

HELLO THIS IS GREG VENDETTA FROM VENDETTA VINYL (One of the contributers to the imprint)...

First of all nuff respect to Clockworx and everyone else that has supported the projects by MF GRIMM & DRASAR MONUMENTAL.....The response has been overwhelming, GMV-1 sold out within a month and a half...

The 7inch we put out sold out within a month....

And GMV-2 is on the verge of selling out, I predict within the next couple months....Without the support from die-hard GRIMM fans this would not be possible, so salute to everyone that has got behind these releases....

at THE GUY WHO CALLS HIMSELF PHATBEETS-

NO one has ever said VIETNAM is "IN" the GOLDEN TRIANGLE - this album is based off of the life of "KHUN SA" who is considered the "Lord Of The Golden Triangle"...He was a Vietnamese warlord who made a living controlling certain aspects of the neighboring "GOLDEN TRIANGLE" for the benefit of VIETNAM & his army...

If you would have listened to the album you would have figured this out (KHUN SA'S IMAGE IS ALSO FEATURED IN THE ARTWORK)........

And how dare you try to diss the artwork.....Both covers were created by well respected graff king KHUFU ONERZ.....As a member of GFC/TNS he has made his mark all over the world as a true style master......LOOK HIM UP.

You are entitled to your opinion, but please "DO THE KNOWLEDGE" before you decide to start talking reckless about well respected, true to the grain, Hip Hop generals..

at WICKED

We sent you the sampler of GMV2, and other info regarding MF Grimm & Drasar's releases in the past, but it seems as if you haven't supported our efforts.....

Our music isn't for everybody, GMV1&2 were made by two hardcore brothers that have lived a life of hardcore shit, so it's no mystery that they create hardcore music....

I'm quite sure if you take the time to LISTEN you will find something suitable for your mixshow.....Let me know if your interested and we will try to get you some promo VINYL.....We are a imprint run by DJ's, who support and create music for DJ's (That's why we focus on vinyl mainly)..

And lastly, GRIMM & DRASAR were in the lab together for these releases (no email sessions).....They built heavy for years before they even started recording.....These two are on a mission to provide hardcore, no-nonsense Hip Hop and they have a few releases planned for 2014, so please stay tuned....

We sincerely hope that all dedicated Hip Hop heads will actually go out and support the music they love.....Not just VENDETTA releases, but all independent labels that still focus on dropping quality Hip Hop in the vinyl format....

Sorry for the length of this, but it was mandatory that I cleared a few things up....

SALUTE-
GREG VENDETTA

What up vendetta7? So the CD's are for sure dropping next month? Definitely let me know when they go on pre-order and ill put in my order. No mp3 version out there I can listen to before years end right? Either way good looks on responding and keep doing your thing. Definitely looking forward to those new releases in 2014.

Yes, the autographed CD's will be available at the end of January 2014, but it is currently on I-Tunes, Amazon, Spotify, and all other digital outlets.....

The vinyl is available at our website, I would post the address but UGHH bans the promoting of other web sites on here..

Since we are talking about album of the year, I believe MF GRIMM & DRASAR MONUMENTAL'S "GMV1 AND 2" easily gets the championship belt......

I might be biased because I know both of them, but from a dedicated Hip Hop student point of view, these two projects are the best I have heard in the last few years......

The only album I can think of that has matched this level of intensity in the last couple years is "The Gas" by the P-Brothers.....

There are only a handful of emcees from the early 90's that are getting better with time, and GRIMM is one of them......PERIOD...

" Sitting on the corner screaming I'm bitter / civil disobedience is the poor man's twitter "......."How It Should Be" off of GMV1....

I highly suggest you give his rhymes a thorough listen because he is on some next shit, but you have to truly listen to catch the depth of his bars.......

Big up-
GREG VENDETTA

No I didn't hear any tracks so far but I never heard about an opium smuggler who was a humanist mother Teresa steez
and I still don’t like that cover (whoever made it).

Anyway in two days I'll fly over to Saigon for a little more than 1 month vacation to south Vietnam (first trip there)
and I'll make sure to ask around if this guy was really a national hero.

I know it is hard to track both of these down in the same place, but I did so at the Rhymesayers' store (if you know, you know) online a week ago. They have both volumes on vinyl. Additionally, I got Port Authority 2 on triple gatefold vinyl for $15.99, and it is selling everywhere else for $30+. Still trying to figure that one out, but they have not corrected the cost.

Clockworx when you go to SPOTIFY check under DRASAR MONUMENTAL for GMV2 although we're officially a group we both have our own seperate spotify stations and agreed to launch it there first. There were many excellent independent hip hop releases in 2013 and to be mentioned as one is a blessing. It was an honor to have KHUFU ONERZ create the covers for both GMV1 & GMV2 he is an equal part of this project and we couldn't of made it without him This is truly a family affair #LONGLIVEHIPHOP

You guys teaming up for any more projects soon? Also in this day and age, to hear you guys banged the tracks out in a studio together and not some e-mail beat/record vocals/email back bullshit definitely gives it a nice sense of authenticity.

FINALLY got around to peeping this. Was as dope as i expected it to be. Top 10-15 album this year through one spin. Beats, samples, instrumental interludes, Grimm's vivid storytelling woven in-between all of them is dope as fuck. Hard to pick out a favorite track because of the way the album is structured, where its just like one 40 minute voyage.

Only nitpick i have is that im not really feeling the up tempo beat on 20%. Other than that this album is a great fuckin follow up to the first one. Need a hard copy of it. Can't wait for the third volume. Grimm is there any tentative release date on it?

I will find out everything and respond back in the forum by today. And we really appreciate everything you've said and done. And I hope through time 20% grows on you it's a very intricate track and it was one of the greatest challenges to flow to because the way it was layered and It literally made me step my game up. That track was a work out. It's our dedication to GRANDMASTER ROC RAIDA may he Rest In Peace.

Respect Grimm. This forum can be a shit show at times but when the actual artists, especially a legend like yourself, post here to give their thanks it reaffirms one of the main reasons i post here.

After im done with Scars and Memories im going to give GMV2 another spin. That 20% beat definitely had an old school feel to it and because of the up tempo im sure it was difficult to flow on hahaha. Maybe upon second listen, knowing what you stated about it, ill learn to enjoy it a little more.

And i appreciate any info you can give at all on GMV3.

word grimm. that's some real shit, those 24 hours must have been critical. i'll have to revisit Ibilys, wasn't feeling the production on some of it to be completely honest, but i can def hear the passion and pain in your lyrics. you, megalon, and doom all went in on, "foolish," that shit knocks in the whip.

you and the homie count bass d should do a project together. i think y'alls styles would mesh well together. peace, best of luck wit everything.
