This is only one round of four, which will lead to the final Album of the Year vote. The albums in this list were nominated by the users of the board, and were not filtered; therefore, there might be some albums that you don't think belong on the list. The solution is to just not vote for them.

Here is the list for Round 4:

Ab-Soul - Do What Thou Wilt
AG Da Coroner - Sip The Nectar
Apollo Brown & Ugly Heroes - Everything In Between
Big KRIT - It's Better This Way
Black Opera - African American
Brous One - Consequences
Chinch 33 - Yuma
Curren$y & The Alchemist - The Carrollton Heist
Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
DJ Rude One - ONEderful
Domo Genesis - Genesis
Drake - Views From The 6
El Da Sensei & K-Def - The Enforcers
Epidemic - 4 Dimensions On A Paper
Flatbush Zombies - 3001, A Laced Odyssey
Genghis Khan - Her Absence Is My
Havoc & The Alchemist - Silent Partner
Illmaculate - Still Standing
J.Cole - 4 Your Eyez Only
J-Live - At The Date Of…
Ka - Honor Killed The Samurai
K-Def - The Way It Was
Klaus Layer - Society Collapse
Lee Scott - Nice Swan
Meyhem Lauren - Piatto D'oro
Mr. Lif - Don't Look Down
Oddisee - The Odd Tape
Planet Asia & DJ Concept - Seventy Nine
Quantum - Waves
Ras G - Baker's Dozen
Red Pill & Ill Poetic - Instinctive Drowning
RJD2 - Dame Fortune
Saba - Bucket List Project
Sadat X - Agua
Sick Jacken - Psychodelic
Snoop Dogg - Coolaid
Spark Master Tape - Silhouette Of A Sunkken City
The Black Opera - African America
The Nothing - Junk Space 2
The Perceptionists - Don’t Look Down
Trapo - Shade Trees
Westside Gunn - Flygod
YG - Still Brazy
Yikes The Zero - The Animal Box

Please list your favourite five albums out of the list. You may list less than five, if you wish, but do not list more than five. Ranking the five albums you choose is very important to this system: for every vote, albums are given points, based on how the user ranks them, where album ranked at number one gets five points, and an album ranked at number five gets one point. Please list your five albums from 1 to 5, 1 being your favourite of the five and 5 being your least favourite.

If you choose to comment in this thread, be sure to include your vote. It would be nice to get as many votes in as possible.

There's about 170 albums in total to vote for; if your favourite albums aren't listed in this thread, they'll be in the other rounds.

The deadline to vote in these preliminary rounds is Sunday night, since I will be posting the final round, first thing on Monday morning.

lol, dammit. good catch. at least they're in the same round, so all the votes for it are in one place, rather than scattered.

fml. why can't everyone use the same wording when they nominate? or not nominate shit that's already been nominated? i mean, who the hell calls it a perceptionist album? that's like nominating supreme clientele as a wu-tang album. i got to go back and see who did this, lol. won't name names, i'm just curious.

even if that's true, tippi, boiling everything down to a final round gives users who are out of the loop a worthwhile guide of what's worth checking out in the year. for example, if you look at last year's vote as a way of deciding what album was the best, then the vote was pointless, because it was always going to be ka, but, if you look at last year's vote as a guide on what were the top 25-ish albums last year, then the final round of that vote is a very useful tool. it's just how you look at it.

yeah i was just kidding, i just found it funny that ka and flygod were both in the same round which also happens to be the round with the fewest choices. at least this time there's some competition though, since in 2015 everyone knew ka was gonna win before we even voted. even aesop and common seem to have a chance. overall it's like you said though, the winner is pretty much arbitrary and the real benefit of this system is having a nice compiled list of albums for people to check out

i thought i said mac lethal in og round, but maybe not, i only listed my top 5 favs, i think i misunderstood the og nomination round as a scolded clock for his huge list, now i get it, i shoulda read the rules better

ps is flygod really that good?? i feel like such a griselda hater, for someone who hasn't heard any of the full length releases, but i hate their approach to releasing music in such limited runs also anything i heard those guys on this year didn't exactly blow me away, in fact it lowered the quality of most of those releases

the tracks released on this k def sensei are from 2006 to 2007. its not when they were made its when they were released. So many albums are 3 to 4 years released after they are made. its not when it is made it is when it was released.

fact of the matter is this whether ep or lp 1 day or 10 years held back k def and el da sen enforcers is the best release of the year.

i definitely like flygod way more than i did when i first heard it, still not a huge fan of WSG but his voice doesn't annoy me as much anymore. it's listenable, even though it took like 10 listens to get to that point. also i can't deny that the production on there is dope and there's some great features. didn't make my top 50 but i included it in honorable mentions at least.

Good shit, URL. I'm waiting for my vinyl copy of that Sinks album. He's sending 10 copies to my boy DRUMAT!C of KicDrum Products.

Waiting for my Last Jazz Club and Soundsci LP's from DWG.

Don't know if I agree with the Grap Luva LP bein included as those beats are all from 1995-1997/98.

that list is based on my personal preference and what i was bumping the most last year. i liked the kendrick project more so i listened to it more, i don't know what else to tell you lol. i can see why you or anyone else would like flygod more but that's because i know you don't like kendricks music in the first place.
