This very well may be the album I've always wanted from Roc

In the last month, Long Island, New York MC/producer, Roc Marciano, released his fourth album, Rosebudd’s Revenge. Coming from the former Flipmode Squad member’s own Marci Enterprises label, the effort makes a new level of independence to a nearly 20-year veteran of the music industry. That album features Brownsville Ka and longtime Roc affiliate Knowledge The Pirate, as well as production including NxWorries’ Knxwledge.

While speaking on B-Real’s The Smokebox, Roc Marci’ confirmed his next project will be a cross-country collaboration with Cypress Hill’s own DJ Muggs. “[DJ] Muggs is a mastermind. I grew up…I look up to Cypress Hill, [especially] you,” he tells B-Real around 10:00, while smoking in the platinum MC’s early ’70s custom Chevy Caprice. “That’s big for me. I wasn’t surprised [to work together]. That thing about Muggs, mostly, is that he pushes me. He don’t just let me stay in my comfort zone. Muggs was like, ‘Nah! You gotta try to rhyme on this.'” He details the recording thus far as high quality. “I can’t front; we caught bodies on joints that I didn’t even see coming. Yeah, we definitely got some things [coming].”

This is a good collaboration idea for the next album in the "vs. Muggs" series.

Did the Muggs vs. Meyhem Lauren ever come out ?

That Meyhem/Muggs is reaching Detox, DOOM Starks, and Metal Clergy mythical levels. Every six months since 2014 Meyhem saying on social media its dropping 'soon' and not even a fucking single has dropped yet.

In the interview Roc said the album with Muggs was going to be dropping this summer. We'll be lucky if we see it at any point in 2017. It's be lulz if Muggs produces all light drummed tracks for it.

at madkap... the Muggs vs. Deck album was originally supposed to be the first Vs. album but it didn't work out and he got with GZA instead. A lot of the beats Muggs made for the Deck album ended up on Grandmasters, Legend of the Mask and Assassin and Pain Language.

yeah Patch,I'm trying to think of other "vs.Muggs" albums that were supposed to happen

-Heavy Metal Kings
-B-Real (that one didn't make any sense to me,that's just a Cypress Hill record)

He had a mixtape that you could basically make a "vs." ep with Chance Infinite,I don't know if any of guys heard it -

^^ Yeah I've got a physical copy of the Chace Infinite joint. It's ok. Haven't listened to it for a long time.

There was the Heavy Metal Kings one that was supposed to happen, and an EP with Vinnie Paz aas talked about at one point as well.

Muggs said a while back that they would just do a Cypress Hill album instead of a Muggs vs. B-Real album. New Cypress album supposed to drop this year.

There was also the shortlived PCP project with Muggs, Necro and Sick Jacken but that never fully got off the ground.

I'd rather hear Muggs vs. Meyhem than Muggs vs. Roc Marc.

Hopefully we don't have to choose, but I can't see the Meyhem joint dropping any time soon. Don't know who is holding it up.

Who would you like to see Muggs do a vs. album with?

I think a Muggs vs. Kool G Rap joint would be ridiculous! And I would have loved to have seen a Muggs vs. Sean Price joint. His verse on Trouble Shooters is dope as hell!!

Yo, you can hold that against me later IF I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Roc Marciano syndrome will strike again - meaning there will be mostly beats without drums or with light drums even it is produced by Muggs....

Kool G. Rap would be dope.Sean Price would have been too.

If I had to throw a name out there,I mean i'll try to think out of the box and say-King T.

Get a Bun B. feature on there, that would be sick.

Muggs has talked about doing another "vs." with Sick Jacken too.Cynic is real underrated,he's dope,I wish him and Sick Symphonies/Street Platoon would put more material out.

^^ Yo the whole Sick Symphonies/Psycho Realm camp are dope as fuck. Cynic is craaaazy!! Did you check out his solo album? Shit is really good. Couple of Sick Jacken features, Vinnie Paz, beats are dope for the most part.

King T is a good shout, they could cook up some dope shit. And Bun B can flow on anything and he'll kill it.

I'd love to see a Mask & Assassin 2. The Muggs vs. Jacken album is by far my favourite of the vs. albums so far.

Actually now that I think about it - It's been said that one of the first "vs. Muggs" albums was supposed to be "Muggs vs. Goretex".

That would have been huge for Goretex,it's all speculation but supposedly it fell apart because the people he was working with prior were trying to get him blackballed.

Was the muggs vs bill album "kill devil hills"?

I listened to it a few times when it dropped, but unfortunately it was around the time bill moved to his horse ranch and was recording his vocals with a fisher price microphone.

Bill got his shit back together on that 2013 album, but I'm not too sure he can really make anything worthy of a few listens anymore.

I wonder if he'll do another Soul Assassins album.People might want to hear that more then a "vs." record depending on who the "vs." emcee is.

The Jacken album is the best imo. So cohesive, the conspiracy theme is dope, the beats are craaazy.

The Asia album is a very close second for me. I like the Jacken one best because I prefer him as an MC.

The Asia album is dope as fuck though, lots of epic sounding beats like Sleeper Cell and Shadows of Hell. Hashashins and Deadly Blades are fuckin awesome! I love the Pain Language remix with B-Real and Omar Cruz as well, that should have been on the album.

I probs listen to the GZA one the least of the four. It's not weak but I just don't tend to come back to it as much as the others.

The Bill one is pretty solid apart from one or two horrible beats and the mastering is terrible! Trouble Shooters is dope and the track with La Coka Nostra.

I could see how heads would find the Gza one a little boring but i fucks with it for nostalgia purposes as well as Wu was pretty irrelevant at that point and album was a breath of fresh air for me regarding them. Pretty diverse in beats, samples, etc on it.

These tracks my favorites...
