Camp Lo's Uptown Saturday Night is a Blaxploitation-era inspired work that stands as one of the most unique and resilient rap debuts of that decade, mostly because it played by its own rules.

Check out the Oral History at UGHH.com and see exclusive photos and videos from the making of Uptown Saturday Night.

album was incredible & had a long shelf life....coolie high came out in 95 & had a bunch of remixes esp. the one w/ the michael jackson sample. then luchini blew up the next summer, and the album finally came out the following year.

i remember mtv news did a story on the album, and how cool the 70s throwback shit was. but they had already been out for like 3 years at that point

you notice how albums now, even if they're good, get forgotten about like a week later....

the demos are better then the album ?

I got to check out these demos then.

SKI beats are flames,I really thought he was going to have a resurgence with Dame pushing him with Currency.

he did mad kap, besides the pilot talk series, he produced the best beats on smoke dzas best album "george kush the button", he dropped those three karate school albums (3rd one "twilight" being the best), one album with locksmith (crazy collab), one with taby bonney (different, but i dug it), and i believe he is working on a 4th karate school. PLUS, he's got his "Sounblock" brand dj merch (record bags, etc.) and drumkit business now plus toured the world recently as Mobb Deeps tour dj

I'd say he's done good. ski has always been coo and the back-stories on this camp lo ish only solidify that
