Shit is knocking. Marco Polo's best produced album imo. Torae holds it down on the mic, lyrics and style are serviceable.

listened to it last week, and loved it. his aggression on the mic here is so great. he doesn't rap like this on his other albums. this is far and away the best album from both of these guys. i wish they did another album together.

my only complaint, and i've said it before, is how left field the bonus track feels. worth noting: i never realized crashing down was just a bonus track. the fact that it's just a bonus track and isn't part of the "official" tracklist makes way more sense to me. i cut that track out of my version, and flipped hold up and get it, so hold up is now the last track.

Agree with all that. Torae does indeed bring lots of energy/aggression.

Artwork is pretty good. I typically prefer covers that don't have the artists on it but they make it work, particularly considering the title. The lettering is cool too.

Marco Polo's beats are usually good, although occasionally he will come with a dud. I remember thinking that Ruste Juxx album was weak. I've heard a few recently that were underwhelming as well. I wanna hear that Milano album.

i remember thinking to myself, while listening to this last week, why they never did make another album together. maybe it was the timing? the rapper/producer duo maybe wasn't in fashion then. if they put this album out now, they'd probably end up like RTJ, and put out a slew of albums. but maybe there were other - perhaps personal - reasons.

i remember seeing them talk about the artwork in interviews, and how they wanted it to be like the rapper/producer artworks of the golden age, where you'd have the rapper up front and the producer in the background (i.e. daily operation).

this album is solid...nothing spectacular, just a good, solid hip-hop record. I don't remember anything too remarkable about it, tbh.

I actually prefer the joint with ruste juxx as I felt it was more cohesive, and had a clear direction. other than that torae is mostly a better mc, so this is easier to listen to probably.

Lyrics and Style are serviceable....What is that supposed to mean? I'm guessing average right?

Haha serviceable means, "fulfilling its function adequately." Sorry I was an English minor lol. Basically what I mean is Torae gets the job done and sounds good over the beats. I'd say he is above average lyrically but nothing remarkable.
