^welcome back Gino.

bis has a few weak ones. i'll say your on point with mind control and i'll add that most of his album have some turds on them.

Mic club was weak to me.

^^^haha u could argue that case but i really like his debut. pretty much everything else can be compiled into a "best of"

^^^this is my favorite mixtape of all time tho. pretty much every freestyle session from his debut to rip the jacker.

Welcome back bruh but how you gonna come back off hiatus and have one of your first threads be about Canibus?

You should've make a Statik > Alchemist thread to re-pop your cherry some_text

I've only heard a few Bis albums in full and his debut is the worst.

C True Hollywood Stories was the worst. Rip the Jacker was the best. His debut has some classic tracks on it so I'll definitely have to disagree with it being the worst. Canibus has a fair amount of really solid albums...and I think that his top 25 best tracks stack up to 90% of the MCs out there.

I feel like mic club is one of his better albums....

rip the jacker
2000 b.c.
for whom the beat tolls
mic club
time flies

all those were pretty solid to great

melatonin magik, fait accompli, can-I-bus, and lyrical law have their moments but are extremely inconsistent

the rest are almost unlistenable

I pretty much agree with what weatherman said. I'd just add in C of Tranquility as one of the solid ones.

Just curious...what are everyone's favorite tracks off of Bis' albums? Off of the debut Can-I-bus album, "Buckingham Palace", "How We Roll", "Patriots" and "2nd Round K.O." Are classic tracks in my opinion. "How We Roll" has the same impact to this day every time I hear it. Off of 2000 B.C., my favorite tracks were: "Lost at C", "Doomsday News", "Micnificent", "2000 B.C.", "100 Bars", and "buss em, punish em" Ft. Rakim. I'll post my favorites from the other albums when I have more time.

Oh god, that was one of the albums that broke me on being a Bis fan, This, 'Def Con Zero' and 'Hip Hop For Sale' came out within months of each other and I copped all of them. Never looked at dude the same again and never gave him my money again. Always get his shit second hand now.

Agreed with C True Hollywood being his worst though. That album was mind-boggling bad. Everything about it was a fail. As far as his early career went I would rank em as such

Can-I-Bus - I really enjoyed Can-I-Bus even though it gets shitted on. I low-key love that album. Probably my most played Bis album if I'm being perfectly honest.

2000 B.C. - Rapping on this is some of the best every put down, but the beats on this bore me to death. I think it's a worse produced album that Can-I-Bus.

C True Hollywood Story - Nightmare of an album. I spent money on this, that still pisses me off.

Mic Club - Solid album with unspectacular production. That G Rap feature though, my god.

Rip The Jacker - Classic, probably because it's the one album Canibus had nothing to do with lmao.

He hit a rough patch with those mid 2000 releases, those were really bad, but then he had somewhat of a resurgence starting with 'For Whom the Beat Tolls' and everything since then has been fairly solid.

But yeah, C True Hollywood Stories is 10x worse than mind control. Plus surely Mind Control is just one of them contractual obligation albums with a heap old shit thrown together..

2000 B.C is my shit

mind control was just a collection of unreleased tracks released from some bum record label. and dont be hating on Atlanta, that track is dope. same with gybaotc. bis lived in atlanta for some time before he blew up in 96.

Bis been dropping dope albums since for whom the beat tolls. and they're all different from each other. C of Tranquility, Melatonin magik, Lyrical Law, Fait Accompli, Undergods (minus Keith Murray) Time Flys are bangers. I Cant wait till he drops something new. Hopefully this year. I know he's working on some crazy shit. I tweeted Bronze Nazareth a while back asking if he'll be working more with Bis and he said yes, so that's a good thing.
Also saw a recent tweet about some collaboration with Chuck D. Heard something about Vakill too.

Can-I-Bus had some dope tracks (2nd Round KO, Buckingham Palace, Get Retarded) but also a lot of wack shit. Plus i got a resentment against it cause i was a Bis Stan back '97 and had mad hype leading up to this album only to be underwhelmed.

i like to think that as far as the records are concerned they are an investment. some day im gonna be mad impulsive and sell em all. i kno as of right now, i prolly could pay for 2 yrs of college between the lps and 45s for my kid. if i dont jump on making beats soon, im just gonna peep em all, keep wat means the most and sell the rest. the 45s have already been picked thru. i kept around 300 outta 2500. the rest im selling. i sold bout 150 of em already.
