which busta album is your fav and why?

he gets under rated on here(so do his albums), mostly by observe but others too but not many other popular emcees have had a career (respectable to a real rap head) like his.

whats your pros and cons on bus?

E.L.E. > Genesis > Anarchy

The Coming and When Disaster Strikes better than all three.

lol Gino I agree ELE is the illest. One New Years I ate acid and watched a candle burn and listened to that album. Next day I was telling everybody that ELE is better than Abbey Road

i remember i wasnt big on the first busta solo (lacked l.o.n.s. qualities like faster songs, funner topics)and by the time WDS dropped so much was happening in rap (especially on the west coast) that i laughed at that CD when i saw it at a friends house and then didnt feel it when i first skipped through it, liking it now!

sometimes when bumpin old albums i think: "how dope would this be if it dropped now?" and imagine- if WDS dropped now it would be the best shit.

^ all bustas working out, possible roids, mental intensity, protein and greens supplements cant protect him from a good fall! haha. the flesh is weak. even bustas! wish the fall would have resulted from him bopping to some real rap though.

No Mask - Props on making this post. And like CLock said The Coming and Disaster are dope
the only Busta albums I heard completely through.

What other ones should I check for? Everyone's saying ELE.

AND YO! DON'T FORGET WHO STARTED THIS RAP SHIT! WHO STARTED THE FIRST RECENT BUSTA POST THAT TRIGGERED ALL THE NEW ONES WHEN I ASKED IF THE COMMING WAS A CLASSIC!

I'm sorry I don't want to steal your thunder.

Busta is great, I'll check ELE.

E.L.R. is just a retarded good album. Classic Busta album for sure. Probably my favorite record of his. Like most of his shit I still feel it's too bloated, but that was just the style at the time. If he would have cut the skits alone it would have been an infinitely better album.

Genesis is one of his records I need to spend more time with. For whatever reason I usually skip around and fuck with every other Busta album so there's gaps in his discog that I've not given proper attention to.

Crumple, what do we have to do to get a weekly youtube video series from you where you reminisce on random Hip Hop albums and give your thoughts? I would subscribe to that.

No Mask - Thanks. Now I've got three to check.

Graph - You'd like that? I'd be up to do that plus off requests to check.

I'd create a new Chanel for it.

Weekly may be too much I wouldn't want to bother people. Your idea is great tho. Will try it.

What's the first album to check?

The Coming > When Disaster Strikes... > E.L.E. > The Big Bang

Anarchy suffered from sub par production. Salute da Gods!!, The Heist, Fire, Ready for War, Why We Die were the stand outs for me. Swizz and Nottz produced garbage and even Dilla didn't produce the quality he was capable of.

after you remove the pop and weak tracks from his albums you get:

1-Anarchy-19 dope tracks- all are above average- most really dope)
2-Genesis- 17 dope tracks-none are average
3-When disaster strikes- 13 dope tracks- a couple are average
4-the coming- 9 dope tracks (11 if you like hot fudge and party)
5-E.L.E.- 12 dope tracks- a couple are average-lots of filler and weak tracks removed.

seriously thinking many are unfamiliar with anarchy and genesis which is surprising.

if (god forbid) busabus dropped dead tomorrow then fuckers would come out of the woodwork saying he is top 5/10 of all time.

Personally i like him and flipmode. When Disaster Strikes is my favorite album.

Spliff star, lord have mercy, rampage and rah digga are all dope. Rah has a decent claim to best female to do it, longside Rage

I figured it out... Busta's fall-off point isn't "Back on my Bullshit", it's actually right around the time of "The Big Bang". That album was dope, but that's when he also released the mixtape "The Crown". That tape was so damn awful. It was dick-riding the south and the loss of direction at it's finest.

Back on my Bullshit was the first step to his recovery. He got his sense of self back from there, but still isnt sure where to go and so he falls back to his classic hiphop style to hold his fans over, like on "Calm Down" and most of "Return of the Dragon". Expect a few more bad experimental tracks, but more quality shit especially since he's working closer with Qtip.

Bottom line = the worst is over.
