id rather have the iphone x and stream these cats dusty on soundcloud.

I tried to justify their marketing plan & approach to myself in an attempt to try & enjoy their music.
Weeks later now, I flat out lost interest in them & their projects over this nonsense.
Their music is cool and all, but I'm not paying a hundred bones for a digital release or cd, sorry.

the way i see it is (and i heard all the old mach and newer shit) mach still has to prove he can bring/hold down a dope album. HBO had a few weak tracks for sure.

dump gawd hommy edition was pretty meh to me. a few real dope tracks - i, too, liked the first track the most - but the majority of tracks on it were whatever.

from my experience, mach is at his best when he's rapping with fahim. they compliment each other real well, and fahim usually grabs good beats for his collabos with mach. if you can't stand fahim, you'll end up missing out on mach's best music. i'm not going to try to sell you on fahim here. just telling it how i see it. it is what it is.

if you're willing to give fahim a try, i got a best of mach and fahim compilation i'm about to drop on the ughh world, lol.

btw, it's expanded to 18 tracks, since i took that pic. there's also a few edits i have to make before sharing it.

I tend to like different/original shit and Mach Hommy has that. His style and lyrics are unorthodox. I don't claim he's super dope or anything but cool. I listened to some of HBO and didn't think it was that good, but I like the Dump Gawd edition. I must have listened to Allen Iverson 60 times, I fuckin love that Earl Sweatshirt beat. Mach also opened up Beloved very well, a classic Conway track, another one I must have listened to 60 times already. One of Daringer's best beats imo.

i'm not too hot on hbo, tbh.

the stuff he does with fahim is more in my taste. he does less singing (god, he's a bad singer), his verses are tighter and more energized. i think hbo had a pretty loose style to it, but, when he's with fahim, it's like they're competing with each other (wu-tang style), and it pays off real well for mach.

i like HBO and the spook more than anything else i've heard from mach. i don't mind his singing at all, it's not that bad to me it's just not great. shapeshifter and bon apres midi are two of my favorite tracks of his.

i also liked it when DOOM sang on a few tracks, and he's not a very good singer either.

yeah, but doom seemed way more aware of it. he kept it to a minimum. and doom's whole style was loose and makeshift (god, i hate that term - so many screenwriters use it in their scripts, i could kill someone if i read it in another script), so it fit well. mach sings like he thinks he's mariah carey, sometimes. and he doesn't do it on throwaway tracks like doom does on madvillain's rainbows. mach does it on tracks that would otherwise be dope, if he didn't spoil it with his singing.

i enjoy some of the melodies he comes up with, but i wish he'd just bring in someone else to sing them for him.

rza was smart enough to bring in tekitha and blue raspberry to sing his hooks. do you realize how fucking wack rainy dayz would have been, if u-god sang the hook, instead of blue raspberry!?

lol i doubt mach thinks he's mariah carey.

bullshit DOOM only does it on throwaway tracks though - what about one beer? that's that? anti-matter, great day, viberion son? some of my favorite doom tracks ever have him singing on them.

like i said though, i don't mind mach or DOOM's singing so it wouldn't really matter to me if they kept singing or never sang again.

lol, you got me, tippi. anti-matter is fucking dope, including the hook.

i still stand by my argument, though, that doom made it fit his style better. a lot of doom's style is intentionally clumsy. there was a conscious humility to it (i like droog for this same reason, and hate that UGHHers think he should rhyme over cleaner, boom bap beats), which is something that mach doesn't leave the impression of having.

you're damn right it is lol. he sings on other songs too but i can't remember which right now.

huh, i see. i actually DO get that impression from mach's music though, especially HBO and the spook. that's why i liked his music in the first place, it's more loosely structured and unconvential which is typically what i gravitate towards. stuff like zeroh, billy woods, milo, koreatown oddity, open mike eagle, homeboy sandman, elucid, etc - artists who i'm sure are all influenced by DOOM in some way. the only thing that might make a difference is that mach's music doesn't have the humor that DOOM brings to the table, but i still get a similar vibe from it. if i'm being honest fahim's rapping is actually more annoying to me than mach's singing.

I will say there are times I can't comprehend what he is saying, which is annoying and something I don't like in an MC. Enunciate your words so I know what you are saying. I was just listening to the Al Divino album and I had that problem. Plus his lyrics sometimes seem vague as in there is not much meaning to them. So yeah...I can see why some people don't like him.

Is Goon Grizzle only available on CD for 1k? It was up on soundcloud at one point but seems to be gone, though did hear it on youtube as well.

I prefer the newer Mach stuff compared to old due to the more unique sounding style he's on these days. Both tight though.

As much as I dig his music, at this point the most memorable part is the allure and entertainment caused by these discussions on the price tags and scarcity associated with some of the releases. Still plenty of time though to see what the future holds for him.

HBO definitely the best project to date IMO. Gonna go listen to that now.

I dont get it like if the dudes stuff is just ok why keep buying it? Lol especially at those absurd prices. People on here debating if its worth paying? Think about it like an investment in 5 years are your Fahim albums gonna hold any value? Not likely. Problem is no matter how much he sells his albums for once someone buys it they can just upload it and post it for free. Then its worth nothing
Have a good day lol
