So after going through all of the Wu Tang Clan albums they put out since 1993 together as a group, i've realized the only 2 I feel that are worth buying and checking out are...

Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chamber) - 1993

Iron Flag 2001

Seriously...??!!!!

Iron Flag is trash! It was thrown together in a rush to try and save Loud Records. RZA got tracks from all over the place for that album, stuff that was meant for Masta Killa's debut, leftover Bobby Digital track, joints from an old Inspectah Deck reel. RZA did an interview in XXL mag at the time and broke the album down track by track.

Wu-Tang Forever is the pinnacle of anything Wu related. All MC's shine lyrically, especially RZA and Deck. Production is flawless. Yeah there's a couple of filler tracks towards the end of CD2 but this album is a classic and the high point for Wu.

The W is crazy slept on too! RZA came through with that dark gritty sound on here!

Wu Tang Forever could have been great, but just like 2pac all eyes on me, it should have been 1 disk with all the good songs on 1 disk with 1hr of material, far to many fillers...

36 chambers and iron flag are albums u can just press play and let it ride front to back, unlike the other projects... both albums are gritty and have tracks that bang hard!!
keepin it 200 and then some!!

lol you're crazy, iron flag is inconsistent as fuck and you can tell it was rushed and thrown together. most of the wu members don't even sound like they want to be rapping on that album, except for maybe ghostface. rapping just wasn't up to par and the album overall felt really disorganized and unfocused. of course wu-tang forever is longer than it needs to be and has some filler, but there are 3x as many good songs on that album as there are on iron flag. there's only 3 or 4 tracks i like, the rest are completely forgettable. even the w is a better album than iron flag, because iron flag sounds like the leftovers from that album lol. i think iron flag is easily the weakest of their first four albums.

Late nominee for worst thread of the year.

Wu-Tang Forever is the best Wu album, even better than 36 Chambers.

Iron Flag is one of those albums when i try to play front to back my pointer finger gets a mind of it's own and keeps hitting the skip button. Album is hot lava garbage and was the beginning of the end for Wu. Id take the album they dropped last month over it.

iron flag has the same type of energy enter 36 chambers has, and also the mc's are attacking the mic, only downside is ol dirty wasn't on it, cause he was locked up at the time i think.

36 Chambers is special. It's considered the greatest of all time by alot of people up on their hip hop. Copped it the day it came out at a fucking B Dalton.

It's better than Wu Tang Forever and cannot be duplicated.

Wu Tang Forever was a bit of a letdown for me after Tical, Return to the 36, Liquid Swords, Cuban Linx and Iron Man.

I kinda felt like the ruff edges got smoothed out. The formula was pretty much the same but it had too much gloss on it.

Wu Tang Forever is where the Wu started to fall off IMO.

-U speakin the truth!! Wu Tang Forever is when they started to fall off, cause that's when the group went commercial and weren't putting out music for the tru street headz, that was the start of their decent for real.

Am I the only one who enjoy bad Wu albums way more few yard after it was released?

I thought 8 Diagrams and A Better Tomorrow where average at best back in the day but I listened to those albums few days ago and despite you can't deny that they don't have the same chemistry the albums are way better than what I thought back in the day

i agree soy ^ i like both those

then again i liked iron flag, it's not mind blowing (lol i say that a lot), but was coo that year it dropped, no aoty or anything, but better than most the trash that was dropping that year (still about 15 better releases that year).

im juust a fan of the wu in general. if i had to rank the wu albums best to worst here goes..

36 chambers
forever
the w
iron flag
a better tomorrow
8 diagrams

the bottom half could change order if i bumped the lower 3 on the list again, probably

oh yeah and lit- you are one to talk you lame fuck, nice to see you back to your normal bitchy self, i was beginning to worry we might become friends

iron flag is trash

it's annoying the amount of love these truly mediocre albums are getting just because it's 15 years later and hip-hop has fallen to shit. I saw people praising immobilarity too....what's next, a tical 0 love thread?

yeah I would rather listen to these albums over anything on the radio today, but in the context of the group output and hip-hop in general? they suck.

wu tang forever is so far ahead of iron flag that's it's laughable someone could think the latter is worth checking out and the former not....shit, I would even take the w and maybe 8 diagrams over iron flag.

yeah, Wu tang forever is very dope. only 3 or 4 fillers/weaker tracks out of around 25 isnt an issue. only real issue i have is the cleaner production but its still raw- just a big change from the debut.its the last dope clan album. the W is o.k but has a bunch of weak joints.

i agree, i know there are people out there who like iron flag just because it's more wu-tang, but i've never heard anyone say that iron flag is good but wu-tang forever and the w aren't. that seems like some troll being contrarian on purpose just to fuck with people lol, and i know platform isn't trolling because i've seen his lists. it's like someone saying load is the best metallica album or that star people is the best miles davis album

Lulz at 'they started to fall of at Wu-Tang Forever'. Either you heads weren't fucking with the genre when that album dropped or you have shitty taste. With the exception of Black Shampoo, that album is a masterpiece. It's easily the best double album of all time.

Yo Weather, Platform is going to more than likely pick the best tracks and cut them. Probably thinks Triumph is wack.

Iron Flag is the worst Wu-Tang album of all time. If i played that album to someone that never heard of Wu-Tang they wouldn't ever listen to them again.

i actually heard iron flag as a kid before i ever heard 36 chambers or wu-tang forever, so you'd think i'd have an attachment to it but i don't. i borrowed the iron flag cd from my brother when it first came out and listened to over and over, eventually i went back and listened to wu-tang forever and 36 chambers and i immediately realized how much better those albums were. i don't think i listened to iron flag for years after that lol.

I remember using the Iron Flag CD as a coaster for drinks a few days after it dropped. It was either that or have it collect dust so thick you could draw a heart with you and your loved ones initials in it.

the thing that made the 1st album so great was it had a long shelf life....first single came out in 92, was something new but kinda low key...'method man' & chessboxin blew up the following year & the biggest single was cream in 94....

nowadays albums are disposable. even if its good, it might get mentioned for like a week....

the 2nd album was a lot more mainstream. they had the commercial talking about kids dont have to go to summer school....and i coulda swore they did a commercial w/ donald trump riding around in a limo, but i cant find it anywhere....

Yo Platform how you gonna leave Nick Wiz - Cellar Sounds 5 off your list? That's easily one of the best 2017 albums.

Id rather hear ETW fart into a mic for 45 minutes instead of a Group Home album in 2017.
