OK so days started off nice just had my first coffee of the day and might have another one soon.

I was talking about Das FX and someone old me that Das FX visited the UK and witnessed the DEMON BOYS performing in London.

Not long after Das FX came with a similar style...

Anyone else heard about this?

never heard this and sounds highly unlikely....London Posse' states tour back in late 80's probably more likely an influence if any at all

I just don't think Das EFX were that active late 80's to be visiting UK and see the Demon Boyz (with a "z") Blue'

and "lol" at: " someone old me "

ive never heard this, at its prob sont true, but i cant say its false.. I was big on the demon boys during their time with derek b, and i cant say they had the das efx style then on their first album, but considering they stuck with their accents and had a tinge of ragga flava delivery at times on early releases.. But what i do recall is if you listen to glimitty glimitty which came some years later, but coincidentally happen to come out around the sametime as Das Efx, one could argue it..

Good theory about the London posse shows. Did demon boys ever support them back then?

Also. On a tangent.

Anyone notice how hard hijack have fell off recently? Terrible. Supreme is making really relevant music, the hijack new stuff is truly terrible

Pop knows whats up!

Never thought I would see Derek B (RIP) mentioned on this forum, he was a bad young brother. Very talented, he got the juice, played at live aid, was his own DJ and producer....pioneer and legend

good thread Blue, London Posse were influential in the states, I know they were on the set when The Bridge Is Over vid was shot, and played a lot in NYC, UK Hip Hop goes deep in the 80's bringing that toasting dancehall soundsystem flavor. I don't think Demon Boyz (with a Z Blue, with a Z! Geto Boys got the s') supported them at the time, London Posse were on the 86' Big Audio Dynamite States and European tour of all things, they got there name back then.

^ with a Z' Blue "lol"

Devastate just released some Demon Boyz snapbacks and T's they are fresh, and Curoc from SON just done the same with a dope snapback

and yea, Hijack still releasing music, in fact K Sly released a solo just last week, from what I have heard not so great though....the Reservoir Records shit was better...

but Supreme....damn his new shit is fire, shame Undercover and K Sly got such a grudge...heres his latest track

I prefer the original, Icepick is sick....but RIP original is flames

^ props to Pop who put me onto it when it dropped....

he remixed some old Hijack tracks on Supreme Legacy Vol 1 and Vol 2 is due to drop this month, gonna have Blade, Curoc possibly Alkaline and host of other features been waiting for it, Supreme/Soops got a Q&A about it on his Facebook page

this is the pick off vol 1

new Hijack:

^ not great....sad to see and wtf were they thinking with the shoes?

Das was influenced by Organized Konfusion and Freestyle Fellowship.

Two words that don't go together-UK and Hip Hop.

Those Demon Boys tracks sound like a cheap ripoff of Supercat.

Speaking of Gunshot, Alkaline references Das EFX in 'Children Of A Dying Breed' and claims that the British invented that style. Alkaline calls it hip-a-muffin style.

me bigger than vex, so me have to trouble the Das EFX, for making up a style what they call the ragga style, when itís the British man who originate the hip-a-muffin style, and still them man are getting paid for that

Hmmm, i wont go as far as to say that the british man created that style.. Don Baron and the Masters or Ceremony were doing that style back in 85.

Doubt this story too...

Demon Boyz based their style on Jamaican "yard" slang.

"Hocus Pocus" is still one of my favourite tracks.

Das Efx were more tongue twisters. I see the similarities but doubt they "bit" their style...
