Instead of doing three rounds as i originally was going to do, we're going to do 4 rounds (around 50 albums per round as there were about 200 albums nominated) and users are going to vote their Top 5 in order with favorite being number 1 and so on down through 5. The number 1 album is worth 5 points, number 2 album 4 points, etc. The 5 albums that total the most points in each round will advance to the final round, which will be posted on Thursday.

It was between that and Modal Soul. While i almost always tend to stray away from voting for instrumental albums, Modal Soul is one of my favorites of all time so i felt obligated to at least throw it in my Top 5.

Yo tippi was revisiting it earlier today. I fucking love the heavy, darker and sort of experimental vibe of it. That opening track is just filthy.

i agree 100%. that was one of those albums i heard when i was younger that completely shattered my whole perception of what hip hop could be. it's got such a heavy, textured atmosphere to it. production there is perfect for the vibe they were going for. definitely one of those late night/winter albums for me.

Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture
Edan- Beauty and the Beat
Cage- Hell's Winter
OC- Starchild
9th Wonder- Dream Merchant

I've tried getting into that Common Market, it's too heavy on the lyrics and too soft on the beats. These contests also make me realize how many albums I haven't heard damn.

My 5th choice was meant to be Cage - Hell's Winter and not Public Enemy. If you could amend this great. Thanks in advance.
