After this recent Golden State run, I’m going with E-40.

He was sitting courtside at Game 1...in Houston! That’s some Jack Nicholson fandom right there.

And he’s always with other rappers like B-Legit, Too $hort, Mistah Fab, Chamillionaire, etc....and he’s always courtside. I feel like if someone offered him tickets in the 2nd row, on the road, in the NBA Finals, he’d be like, “Courtside or nuttin, u undersmell me?”

E-40 has to be absolutely BALLING off that alcohol money.

Who else?

guys, I was trying to get away from the "rappers with the best sports references". defari and kool keith would be in that category (with the others mentioned)

i'm talking about attending games and loyalty to one team...

ice cube is another...he's a HUGE Lakers & Raiders fan.

jay-z is embarrassing. he goes to games with his wife that are nationally broadcast. it's just sad seeing them courtside on Christmas day.

Obviously nothing better than lebron, no team does. Love? I'll take horford any day, not to mention jaylen, tatum and rozier are currently better than anyone else on their team. Also Boston has brad stevens who is legit. And no this isnt the same team, ehh kyrie, he was pretty fukin handy.

Kevin Love is 10 times the player Al Horford is. This isn’t even debatable, lol. Al Horford averages 12 points per game. When did he average 26 and 13? Um, never.

You mentioned Kyrie...why isn’t he there? If LeBron is “so great”, why does no one like playing with him?

He makes former all stars and Olympians, like Chris Bosh and Kevin Love, spot up 3 point shooters with his iso ball. LeFraud.

Hmm love avreages what 17 and 9 with 1 assist whilst getting murdered on D at every opportunity while Horford has 13pts 7 boards and almost 5 assists while anchoring the best defense in the league. But look, whateve, they are both role players right now. But you say lebron makes players spot up shooters, ok maybe but he also made those guys nba champions. Thats why they are happy to take a lesser role.

how's that al horford cosign working for you? lol, just kidding putitonbigl.

i said after the Celtics were up 2-0...Cavs in 7. You already know that the Celtics are way over their heads, and when Lebron ties the series 2-2 tonight, the pressure goes to Boston.

I am still rooting for the Celtics though...

I think it's time to stop the rhetoric of "the Celtics have a better team" and "he has no help".

The funny thing is ...when the Cavs get swept by GS in the Finals...the rhetoric above will start again. LOL.

Lebron has more built in excuses than any superstar in the history of sports.

Horford has been better than love this season/playoffs, love is more talented.

But yeah the reason that rhetoric comes up is because when cavs lose its usually due to basically their whole team not showing up outside lebron. What do you expect. Once lebrons teamnates play even half way decent they win due to lebron being consistently incredible. I dont really understand your criticism of him tbh unless its just the narrative surrounding the team.

lol, he's averaging 6 turnovers per game...but it's the best he's ever played, lmao.

listen, i picked the Cavs, even after they were down 2-0. I am the only one that isn't buying the bullshit of the Celtics are a better team. Marcus Morris and Terry Rozier are not better than a team that went to the Finals the last 3 years.

but with that being said, no one will remember Lebron beating the Celtics without their 2 best players. the only thing Lebron will be remembered for is Championships and his Finals record, period.

I expect GS to sweep the Cavs...and Lequit will be back on the "I have no help, so I'm leaving" train.

Lequit is such a fitting nickname. 3 wins, 6 losses in the Finals, lol.

I like you nws. But its clear you have a mad bias. You sound like skip Bayless. Lebron will be remembered as being depending on your take the 1st or second greatest basketball player of all time. Leading a team back from 3-1 down against a team with the best single season record of all time. Hiw ever many straight finals he ends up doing, and the best statistical totals ok f any player ever. Personally I i still got mj. Lemme guess, you got kobe>bron?

why are former NBA players so quick to rank Kobe ahead of Lebron?

these are actual NBA hall of famers (Jordan - who just said it 6 months ago himself, Barkley, McGrady, Iverson, etc.)...they all say Kobe is better.

but you have morons like Brian Windhorst, who owe their entire professional career to Lebron, sucking him off like he's not held to the same standard MJ and Kobe were held to...RINGS.

but let's put the rings aside...who is a better defender, Lebron or Kobe?

i think we all know who was on the all defensive team 12 times...not LeFlop

Honestly, I have zero bias when judging athletes. I just don't change my judging criteria from generation to generation, which is what is happening with Lebron.

and thank god for Skip Bayless...he's the only one telling the TRUTH about LeFlop.

did you hear that Lebron is the greatest scorer in NBA Playoffs history? I'm reading the headlines this morning and these are them:

"LeBron James scores 44, makes NBA history"
"LeBron James sets record for career postseason field goals"
"LeBron passes Kareem to set playoff FG record"

But the TRUTH is...

when it comes to lebron and u dont take into consideration he played in the east since day 1 then your not giving a fair opinion of him. bottom line is this IF lebron played in the west since day 1 he might have never made the finals.

you cant give lebron so much credit for playing in a ultra weak conference like the east. the east has been so bad for the last 17 years the nba is considering changing the format of playoff seedings. of course lebron is oppossed to this cause he has a cake walk every year along with biased preferental treatment for his paid off refs for his teams.

overall I will never deny he is not a great player for this generation but he will never make top 10 no matter how much he bloats his stats.

ollie, that has to be the most level headed, coherent reply, from you - ever.

i forgot about the re-seeding...unreal.

What the NBA has done to help LeBron:

1. Remove the 5 second rule - you used to not be able to get the ball at the 3 point line and back your way down to the block or key. It's Lebron's signature move.

2. No hand checking - unreal that this is not in the game today.

3. Flagrant Fouls - if you can't crack someone going to the hoop to put the fear of God in them, then it's not the same brand of basketball that MJ or Kobe played.

4. Collusion - When did the NBA allow 3 players, on different teams, to dictate their free agency behind closed doors? Oh wait, when it was Lebron trying to chase a ring.

The second you said thank God for skip i stopped taking you serious tbh. Of course Jordan picks kobe because kobe cant challenge hkm for goat. A lot of passed greats are just jaded and they dont want to see jordan get eclipsed either. In 10 years lebron vs kobe wont even be debatable. I feel bad for ppl who cant just enjoy one of the all time greats without trying to take him down a peg. The weakness in the east is real, but you can only play who is in front of you.

Btw the 5 second rule didnt apply to Jordan either he got majority of his buckets in the post on his second run.
Hand checking wouldn't effect lebron for shit that would hurt guards like steph and dame.
And yeah it was more physical back in the day, lebron is way stronger than Jordan or kobe was so i doubt that hurts him much. Also lebron did change the landscape with the Miami thing, but now he has to deal with the repercussions playing against the most talented team of all time in the finals

Ollie makes valid points about him being in the East leading to an abundance of finals appearances. He's still an all time player and one of the most physically gifted of all time and it's not debatable.

Ill cut/paste what i typed in the last Lebron discussion thread...

Don't get it twisted NWS. I'm by no means a Lebron stan. But what he's done this year is improbable and no one at his age has ever come close to duplicating the numbers he's been putting up. Love him or hate him he's on the Mt. Rushmore of NBA players. A lot of the heads that knock him tend to focus on his win/loss in the finals as a barometer. While it's certainly one of the factors, on more than one occasion he was facing a vastly superior opponent. That same thing will happen this year if it makes it. He had a terrible finals against The Mavs but i was rooting for the Mavs so i was happy lulz.

All im saying in his 15th season in the league he's still the best player in the NBA. It's hard to argue otherwise. He singlehandedly brought these scrubs besides Love to the conference finals and just swept the number one seed. But if he gets swept in the finals it's going to somehow taint this season in the eyes of critics.

He might be an asshole and team hijacker but that doesn't affect how i view his play on the court. Brought Cleveland their first championship in like 50 years and did it by beating a 73 win team.

Here's Lebron's averages in each of his finals...

2007 - 22, 7, 7
2011 - 18, 7, 7
2012 - 28, 10, 7
2013 - 25, 11, 7
2014 - 28, 8, 4
2015 - 35, 13, 9
2016 - 30, 11, 9
2017 - 34, 12, 10

Those last 3 years are retarded, especially when you consider the team it was against. They didn't lose cause of him. That's for sure. And i love Duncan but id take Lebron in an instant over Duncan.

Once again, i don't take into account all the off the court shit when judging him as a player. He's Top 4 and im not even a huge fan of his.

MJ's the GOAT but the rings argument is dumb. Robert Horry has 7 rings.

Lebron took that dumpster fire of a team in 2007 to the finals. He also singlehandedly took the Warriors to 6 games with fucking Timofey Mozgov and Dellavedova when both Love and Kyrie were out. I agree he should've won more in Miami and he was the reason they lost to the Mavs in 2011. He played like dog shit in the finals that year.

We could go back and forth for days on the subject but objectively, regardless of what you feel about him as a person, i cant see how as a player there's heads that think he's not one of the best of all time.

Well said clock. Nws is a skip Bayless fan so its probably not worth arguing with him on this subject. I remember that mavs series vividly, i hated lebron so bad, it was so satisfying to see him choke in the finals, shit he had shawn marion calling him a bitch after scoring on him. I didnt really start to appreciate dude till that first finals against dubs, that blew me away. He still pisses me off massively with his sooking to the refs and all that wack shit he does but no way am i gonna go through the whole lebron era and not appreciate what he does.
And btw about defense, lebron is a phenomenal defender when he is locked in, admittedly he is inconsistent with his effort but he has come up big in big moments locking dudes up in the 4th and getting big time blocks. Just ask iggy.

In 10 years lebron vs kobe wont even be debatable.

Funny you mention that...I was listening to someone yesterday who thought the exact opposite. He said in 20 years, people will look at Kobe's 5-2 record in the Finals, and Lebron's possible 3-6 record in the Finals, and they will conclude that Kobe was the better player. I completely agree. But it will take 20 years.

But its clear you have a mad bias.

The second you said thank God for skip i stopped taking you serious tbh.

Nws is a skip Bayless fan so its probably not worth arguing with him on this subject.

Bias, muah?

Yeah you have a bias, and if you take skip bayless serious you obviously are blinded by your hate or you just dont know ball.

Btw take away shaq and you can take away 3 rings as well from kobe.

How many mvps did kobe get again? What about finals mvps? Hmmm.

Clock, I didn't just use that logic. 12 times all defensive team compared to Lequit's 6...that's 50% of the game. And we are talking about the best of the best, not Big Shot Rob, a role player.

putitonbigl - Did you just ask about who has more MVP awards, and in the same breath tell me that I don't know ball???...lol.

Derrick Rose won the MVP award. That award is a joke.

Oh, the "if Shaq wasn't around" argument...got it. So weak.

You guys can try and put Lebron in a place he hasn't reached. And in that same breath, call anyone that disagrees with you "bias".

I just wonder why you guys can't explain why every former player from MJ, AI, TMac, etc, all choose Kobe. I'd love to hear a real answer and not some conspiracy theory like, "Of course Jordan picks kobe because kobe cant challenge hkm for goat." What was AI's reason? What was Barkley's reason? What was TMac's reason?

I'll wait...

And if you want to play the "what if" game, if Draymond Green doesn't get suspended for Game 6 and Ray Allen doesn't save Lebron, he would be 1-7 in the Finals. The amount of wishing Lebron was top 2 is just insane. Let it play out because he's not there currently.

fuck...even Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh said that Kobe is better than Lebron, lol. Shaq thinks so too, and he played with both players.

I honestly don't have anything else to say after seeing those cosigns from Lebron's former teammates.

Can you guys post some more stats?

attn nws meme fail

olajuwon was 2-1 when he lost to bos in 86

all of mj's rings were not legit

92 blaz were robed vs chi
98 pacers were robbed in east finals vs chi
93 suns were pushed in by the nba for rating.. should have been hou vs chi

all of duncans rings are not legit

99 vs knicks was bogus.. ny was pushed in for ratings
07 suns rpbbed vs spurs

fakers

blaz pacers robed in 2000 vs fakers
kings robbed in 2002 vs fakers( most well known robbery in sports hisory)

not sure why there is always a leflop vs kobe comparison everytime. neither guy was best of his generation and neither will be in the top 10. kobe is the ultimate ballhog owns every nba record in history of futility with missed shots and lowest fg %. awful teamate and all around asshole. lebron on the other hand is a guy that has been breast fed since day by the david stern man boobs and has been protected and babied by the refs and hid in the eastern conferernce aka the leastest conference.
