yeah supporting artists makes you a moron basically, especially since it increases the changes that they'll be able to have physicals made in the future. that shit is the worst.

Artists should have physical copies. PERIOD!! Its not expensive to press up 100 copies of a CD. Most of these artists dont even reach out to labels to see if anyone is interested in pressing their album on Vinyl. There's also the Vinyl-On-Demand services like Qrates.com or DiggersFactory.com yet very few artists try that even though they would spend ZERO dollars. So if an artist doesnt care to put some time & effort into their album bein available on multiple formats, especially physical formats, then FUCK'EM!! Just sayin.

Spending money on a digital file is seriously retarded. I've never spent a dime on a digital song/album/release, etc. and never will.

i understand preferring physicals but to call people morons for supporting the artform you claim to love so much? come on now. a lot of these artists don't even know if the demand is there, and digital sales/streams give them an idea. a ton of digital releases get physicals later on, and this might not be the case if no one supported the digital release in the first place. of course artists could do more to try and have physicals made, i think they should too, but how is the music itself worth nothing to you whatsoever?

at the end of the day i care more about the music itself and supporting the artists i'd like to see continue to make art than holding a piece of plastic or a record in my hand, even though i'd prefer to have a tangible copy of my favorite albums.

Still, as a consumer I know that this will very likely eventually get released on vinyl and it will also very likely cost less on wax, so I am waiting to spend less money and get this on vinyl one day.

That said I want Nack to have all the money bc he is absolutely killing it this year.

^i think i agree with tippi on this, but i like physical copies, obviously i come from a time where it was the norm and still love it and still collect. what i'm finding is these bandcamp artists are releasing a digital, at a premium price, peddling exclusivity and elitism, and when only 3 or 4 people pay that price for a digital copy and they see it leaked, they put up a pre-order for a CD that not even they know if it'll ever be produced.

they just want to collect the money now, and worry about how that physical will be handled later. then 3 months later, they giving you excuses in a DM about where the physicals are.it's a game a few of these clown artists be playing and it has to stop.

just to be clear, i don't agree with these artists charging "premium" prices for mp3s either

i'm talking about artists charging 5-10 bucks for a digital album, which to me is pretty reasonable.

^even $15 for a digital album, reasonable. now if the only format is digital, and they ain't tryna trick you to cop the physical saying it'll never be released on any other format (ie. like how Roc Marci did) then $25 for a digital album is even cool with me. but if they releasing it on other formats (cd, cassette, or vinyl), then i think $10-$15 makes sense.
