Is no one gonna mention this?

Their album drops November 9th on Fat Beats.

This has been talked about since 2007, glad it's finally surfacing.

Both are legends.

why did they spell Brooklyn like transplant hipsters?

I'd have to assume that is fatbeats doing. Ase wouldn't make a silly mistake like that.

It's a Masta Ace album so it gotta be good. I was expecting it since spring... can't wait to hear it.

Apparently it's about Marco Polo's life, so it could be a bit boring.... but lets see what Masta Ace can do

You think growing up in Canada, leaving the fam and moving to BK to pursue your dreams, interning at a classic studio and meeting legends, befriending those people and taking a chance at producing full time, succeeding at that while maintaining musical integrity, steady building your brand to include sound kits, compilations in your own name, one emcee one producer albums, worldwide touring etc. etc. makes for a potential boring listen?

pbtb I'm not saying the album will be boring. I'm a big Masta Ace fan (he is one of my faves) and Marco Polo is a very good producer.

But the subject that they chose seems boring. Not saying that his life was boring, but thats just a life story nothing special really

Titooo Yeah I got the love from your post

I think theres few emcees that could pull this off but MA def showed he has the oversight and skill to make heavy concept albums work!

Lots of parallel stories w diff themes could be derived from Marcos path and expanded upon IMO - I dont think we will be hearing a strict linear narrative here

Anywho, Im confident this will be a project Ill play for yrs to come

just sayin as much as marco brings well produced shit and some bangers many of them are still a bit too polished and lacking that dust and grit and really ill samples

hes great and not even a one trick pony but

nothing bad to say about ace

im not at all clock. i still havent peeped "the falling season" yet. ace is solid but wat does that mean. holds attn? he has longevity of being boring just like OC. rappity rapping rappers. this aint the strech and bob era nemore. these guys are a snooze fest.

While i dig Ace, the thought of him over an albums worth of Marco Polo beats does nothing for me. Marco Polo is in the same category as Skizz for me. Not bad producers but nothing great either with the occasional crazy beat pulled out of their asses.

I respect Masta Ace a lot, he's a great MC, top 25 ever for sure, but I don't like any of his albums that much. I've mentioned numerous times that his two most heralded albums, Disposable Arts and A Long Hot Summer, are overrated to me. I agree about Marco Polo, about 3/10 of his beats are good.

This album still has potential. You'd assume Marco would bring his best material for Ace. I'll check it out.

Double Barrel is great, his best produced album by far. The first 6 or so tracks on Port Authority are dope, the rest of that album is boring for the most part.

Other than that he provides the occasional banger on random albums. One of my favorites is "Yeah" off Boot Camp Clik- The Last Stand.
