Lyrically slug comes correct. Very honest, heavy with the metaphors, but the beats are bland as fuck. Ant shit the bed with this release.

Listening for the first time right now.

I was reading an interview on this album and Slug mentioned how Fishing Blues was very similar to Seven's Travels, basically leftover tracks that they tried to sequence into an album. I always felt that way.

I'll be back to report on the new album...

also want to add even though virgo is weak it makes sense in the context of the album, plus I really like the album stream video that goes along with the songs, all the video segments make perfect sense. like a cool lil mini movie.

This is dope. Alot better than I was expecting actually. Dope beats and slug's still got it.

Only 2-3 tracks I'm not feeling but this is easily one of my favorite albums this year.

Is this ant on production? The fuck happened?? His sound used to be so dusty and raw

With that said, "trim" is a great beat and the only song i liked; of course it's about a middle aged dude desperate to bang his wife, which might get old fast

Im kind of unsure on this, need more listens. Definitely got some tracks, slug has a few cringey moments, and the beats arent really what im after. Buut it has some moments, i dunno. I found trim annoying tbh.

Musab is so different but still dope on this. His original stuff was great.

I had a social media argument with him at some point years ago about how wack he'd got. This is more like it.

He clearly took what I said onboard and owes me

Side A

Jerome - One of my favorite tracks on the album. I knew it when the video dropped. Such a great start to the album with a faster pace Slug and Ant matching his aggression. Some great shit talking on this track.

Stopwatch - The only song on the first side that I hadn't previously heard. Damn, that beat. Slug comes through again with the vivid lines. Ant's drums on this track>>>. Another banger for sure.

Virgo - Not much to say since it's a no-brainer...this track is going to be looked at as another Atmosphere classic. Put it in the anthem vault. Play it at their hip hop HOF induction. Some might not like the beat, blah, blah, blah. It's one of those tracks that really will live on forever in their catalog and guessing their live show.

Side B

Delicate - Four for Four. Ant just killed this track. The outro is amazing. Really solid album up to this point. The sequencing is on point too. It's tough to not think this isn't better than Fishing Blues from the first 4 tracks.

Drown - Liked but didn't love. I gotta say that The Lioness was actually better than Slug, lol. Never heard her before but she was dope as fuck. I could see this song growing especially the hook but a B+ for now. Slug was the only downside. *Stan moment*

Anymore - Okay, back to the bangers. That 2nd verse is unreal.
Ant is really shining on this project but that's nothing new. Underrated on here by UGHHers for sure. Take his entire production catalog and say something. I'll smack you silly.

Side C

Earring - Woah, right off the bat...top shelf beat. High as fuck to this is a good idea. Musab with the slow flow done right. Damn, something about this track is "can't get it out of my head" quality. Starting to love Kim Manning with Atmosphere.

Trim - Oh me, oh my. Leave it to Sean to put many of us on front street. Personal classic. Nerdy, white, stalker, make fun of yourself, it's all good, laugh at me or with me...some truth in the humor type track. Daley household is popping. I legit love that track.

Specificity - Woah, what the fuck is this? Dusty Ant? Fuck yeah, this is one of best tracks so far. Short and sweet. Greatness again.

Side D

Mijo - Tough for me not to love this track. Motherfucker hits me with some shit like this. Slug always gives you a peek into his life and when it's a glimpse or flash of your life, it's what this music shit is all about for me.

Randy Mosh - Nice...bring it back. I Self kicks it off so proper. This is why Dyno should seriously drop an album and do a tour. Mr. Gene Poole doesn't sound the same though, right? And there is a line he says about him ignoring pharmaceuticals and smoking weed to kill cancer cells that he's got. Damn, does anyone know anything about this? Sick verse by everyone and hook included, fire.

Graffiti - Holy fuck...might be the best track. Anthem that I can't wait to see performed live. Stand the fuck up and put your motherfucking hands up. What a great song to end the album. Like 2 bookshelves with Jerome. So much depth to this album. A- to this point...7" can't pull that down.

Bonus 7"

Make It All Better Again - Was just wondering if this would come out on vinyl. Not the biggest fan of this track but I need all of their music on vinyl or CD so I was thrilled when I saw the additional 7". Still a solid B+, many Atmosphere songs sound like this one though. Hence being a loosie. The ending is cool as fuck.

Sleeping On The Bright Side - Woah, some serious heat from Ant. This is not a loosie. I'm really feeling the organ or whatever the fuck. Hook is spooky. Love how they included this for the vinyl heads. And LOL at the ending, where and what is that? So dope.

Slug and Ant are seriously the greatest hip hop duo of all time.

Summary: A-, tough not geek out...feels like a Top 5 release this year with a buy recommendation from your UGHH buddy, NWS. Potential for replay could make it a finalist for AOTY. Peace fellas.

Anyone know if anyone else has used the sample from Randy Mosh? I swear I have heard that before. I think it was either a Ka song or something El-P used. Perhaps from one of his wereallgonnaburninhell mixes.

Look at this triple chinned wgr NWS with the essay. Imagine sitting at home listening to Atmosqueer on a Wednesday night, trying to post a song by song paragraph on a jewish hip hop website, only to fail miserably - in life and in hip hop. This guy is the definition of a loser.

NWS and Slug probably give each other reach arounds while looking deeply into each other's eyes. FOH.
