Actually some pretty good releases this year. I like the Robert Johnson, Gravediggas, Frank Zappa, Saul William's, Cannibal Ox, Devo, and The Breeders.

Total Posts: 610 Member Since: 2018 Location: bangkok | posted Tuesday, October 09, 2018 4:24:29 PM "flood" is the dopest herbie hancock album and a top 10 live album of all times, no matter what genre ... it's actually herbie and the headhunters ... I'm curious if it's a remastered version but I doubt it will sound better than the old japanese pressing...Partial IP: 224.194.89 |

NEVER BEFORE RELEASED COMMERCIALLY ON VINYL IN THE US! This double live outing from Herbie Hancock was recorded in Tokyo in July of 1975. Backed up by The Headhunters, Hancock runs through selections from his albums Head Hunters, Thrust and Man-Child – that last project still being months away from release at the time of this recording. Get On Down’s Black Friday reissue of the vinyl will be the first US release for the double LP, ever.

Total Posts: 610 Member Since: 2018 Location: bangkok | posted Wednesday, October 10, 2018 2:25:11 AM ^^^ I wouldn't compare "flood" to "live evil" or the electric miles sound in general as miles got a heavy rock influence while the headhunters added funky rhythms to herbie's mid-70s sound...
btw, do you know miles' '74 live recording "dark magus" where he was joined by 3 guitar players? it's an awesome album but it took me lots of listening sessions under the influence of shrooms to get into it, hahaha...Partial IP: 224.194.89 |

Total Posts: 12560 Member Since: 2017 Location: Paul Wall talkin about Ear Hustlin | posted Wednesday, October 10, 2018 8:24:01 AM sounds interesting. jazz purists will shit all over my jazz taste kinda like my rap taste lol. cuz my favorites are flute and guitar and most purists think those albums are cheesy. and i love fusion. standard jazz needs to be somethin else for me to play it, most of the time i need it mixed with somethin like funk or rock and im a huge afro jazz and brasilian jazz fan. i dont own much jazz on vinyl nemore tho.Partial IP: 224.194.89 |
