I remember Rza saying he wanted to do an ODB movie shortly after Straight Outta Compton dropped- sounded like a Wu- movie would be dope- this sound even better. Hopefully they toss some martial arts in there somehow, heh heh.

From the Article: 10 episode drama series based on The Wu-Tang Manual and Tao of Wu. Wu-Tang: An American Saga is created, written, and executive produced by Alex Tse, who wrote the Superfly remake, and The RZA.

the thing is i feel like this era of the wu has already been covered so many times, it's just not that exciting to me. don't get me wrong, i'll watch it but there's 50 other biopics that i'd be rather see made. even for the wu, it would be more interesting if the series focused more on the life before wu-tang even existed & how they all linked up rather than wu-tang once they were already an established group. that's just me though.

Rhymesayers needs one of these. Are they the longest running independent hip hip label of all time? Enquiring minds want to know.

I'm definitely going to check this out. GP mic.

"The series will be set in New York in the early 1990s at the height of the crack epidemic as a group of young men decide to do art for a living rather than deal on the street."

The series will be written by both RZA and Alex Tse, the writer behind the recent SuperFly remake, with Method Man executive producing and Ghostface Killa, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, GZA, and the estate of Olí Dirty Bastard on board as consulting producers.

i wonder why u-god and raekwon aren't involved...
