damn, both of these guys killed this. Probably my favorite release this year. Signature Edan beats with Homeboy killing it over them.

Both of these guys killed this lyrically and Edan's beats are perfect for Sandman

Favorite track right now is Unwavering Mind

I've tried with Homeboy in the past and couldn't get into him. With that being said, Edan is great so this is my last attempt with Homeboy.

at Clock what do you think of that “Gut” track above? I’m a big fan of Homeboy Sandman...but I do understand that he can be hit or miss with some people. I think that he has a lot of great tracks though...and he’s really versatile & clever. Love the smooth, chill songs he does like “Couple Bars”, “A’s, J’s & L’s”, “Stroll”, “Bless Up”, “Mind Vs Matter (L’Orange), “Enough”, “I Saw A World”, etc. I love the “The Good Sun” album. He has some really dope collab tracks with Aesop Rock as well. My favorite Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman collab tracks:

-“Environmental Studies”
-“Pins and Needles”
-“So Strange Here”
-“Couple Things”
-“Mud”
-“Syrup”

I am thoroughly enjoying this album.

Edan, I am very familiar with and really enjoy his style of music - production, raps etc.

Now, for Homeboy Sandman, are all his releases on par with this OR could it be bc I am an Edan fan?

Any help is appreciated!

cosign clock that this is my last try with sandman as well. i really really reallly dont like how edan looks. i just got done tellin my sister that the look edan is rolling with is a real thing. like white guys purposefully trying to look like a creepo shit bag. for example, how current bieber looks and harry fraud. u can totally picture them hanging all day in adult bookstores type look. its really gross. that long hair outta the fitted hat gives me butt blisters.

I think Sandman is great. He has a unique style and refreshing perspective. Can not wait to press play on this one. Gna have to listen to the bootleg version, but I will be spending the dough for sure.

cosign WJ, homeboy sandman is one of my favorite rappers out there. he's so versatile and has a ton of personality on the mic, one of those artists who can rap about anything and make it sound interesting or inject some humor into it.

only listened to this project once so far, but almost every single track was great to me. only one i wasnt loving on first listen was "that moment when and maybe thats because its just not as dynamic as some of the others. rock & roll indian dance and neverusetheinternet again are my favorites. i really like the back and forth between edan and sandman on rock and roll indian dance, i wish this project had some more of that. edan could have just been adlibbing the whole time.

Tippi...give that track another listen. It’s actually a very dope song. I think the last track is the weakest and it’s still good. I’m loving this EP. I’m hoping for a tour and an instrumental album

Homeboy Sandman has been my favorite rapper the past 4 years. I’ve been a HUGE fan of Edan since before he dropped an album and I met him in Boston.

These two together have great chemistry and compliment each other nicely

A guy who looks exactly like Edan came up to me at the Nas show at red rocks and we were hanging out and he actually took the photo for the cover to the Transcendental Bliss mixtape. I kept hinting that I knew he was Edan, but I was on drugs so who knows lol.

yeah i'll be giving that one many more listens, its not like i thought it was wack or anything. i liked the production on the last track a lot though, honestly the production throughout the entire project fit sandboy homeman perfectly. it's a shame that edan didn't rap on here more but he was on it just enough to keep that momentum going, and maybe i should consider myself lucky if i even get to hear one new edan verse a year lol.

I think this project just goes to show that a rapper can be decent with the right producer. Sandman has never stood out to me but with Edan's production, this is something else.

Off the first spin, I was definitely hoping for something else. Both of these guys are talented AF but this one is either gonna have to grow on me or I'll jut miss out on whatever brilliance I'm sure is there. It's not grabbing me. I was hoping for something a little more along the lines of Edan's production on Packs.

I gave this a shot and it's not for me. Not feeling a lot of the beats and the hook on Rock and Roll Indian Dance made me cringe irl. Oh well at least i tried.

even if you hated the album i'd still say it'd be worth it NWS. i've seen homeboy sandman perform a few times and he absolutely killed it every single time, the energy is contagious. i don't think you'd be disappointed.

I figured and have heard that many times about Sandman so I really want to go.

I am going to be tailgating most of the day at the USC Football game, then watching the game which starts at 7:30pm. I'd have to leave the game early and somehow have the energy to get over to the show (which isn't far). It's going to be a last minute decision but I'm leaning towards making it happen.

man you should go. i saw edan live once in cleveland he was playing kazoo, he tore the place down. sands great live, too!

i love the new album but i'v always been a fan of both cuz my tastes aren't ass like clockworks.

if indian dance is cringe wtf is all that eminem bullshit you cosign? and that buttress song? wow dude your tastes really do suck.

lex i get the feeling its just not street enough for you. most stuff i see you cosign has more street edge but sand ain't messin mith them nickle nines and nickel dimes ya dig!

grown man rap at its finest. and like tippi said - still fun

nws, I'd suggest going to see them, I saw Edan about 16 yrs ago, and he put on one helluva show.

in terms of this album, I really like it, I'm pretty much an Edan fan for life after seeing him live. I wasn't too familiar with Homeboy Sandman going into this, but I was pleasantly surprised how he sounded over these beats. tippi is right, the guy has some versatility. I guess my only critique is that I wish it was longer, with a little more Edan rapping, but I'd like to see another album from these guys.

man im halfway thru this and the production is totally drowning out ne bit of rapping to me. sandman already has a slur and doesnt speak loud enough but this is just strange and not in a good way. i dont notice the influence of edan either. it shoulda been way more 80s oldschool type beats instead of this chaotic electro mess. im on track 5 and "the gut" is the only joint i like so far.

yeah gino i wasn't expecting you to like this tbh. the production is exactly what i wanted/expected from edan though and the project's got a really distinct sound to it in general.

also it's funny you said that kindness for weakness is the only project of homeboy sandman's you like, because that's probably my least favorite one lol.
