He's one of the best!

"is a stand alone track not attached to any project"

I still hope the new album is released next year...

shit is weak

-generic electric guitar beat (even hes done that too much)

-weak annoying chorus (give me my money, give me my goddamn money...)lol

-rhyme scheme is drawn out and awkward at points.

his problem is he sucks at picking beats, wants singing on too many tracks and goes too rock and abstract.

he just needs buckwild, large pro and preemo etc beats. thats it. do an album with just real beats like that!

This is cool but he still hasn't dropped a complete album since Internal Affairs, mostly cause of his beat selection.

It was a 7/10 to me and with an emcee as gifted as Monch he should be dropping minimum 8/10 albums on the regular. PTSD was a 5/10.

I really liked PTSD.

Anywho, I like this shit too. I get the beat and chorus are both simple. Sometimes simple ain't a bad thing. They both sound dope on this beat. I like it.

Ptsd is so underrated. Even though i haven't played it in a while, imo its really good and he nailed the concept. He took a lot of chances and they didnt all work ("scream") but it was a dope project overall.

This track is fire btw.

^forced myself to like it when it dropped and hearing it later its boring. mix sounds flat. and of course as usual average beats ( a few actaully bad), too much singing bogging down tracks , some corny choruses and too much rock influence and too much neo soul influence.too abstract too.

hes trying to be a music genius but turns out he cant be and it backfired on him. he will only ever be an emcee genius.

Agree with putitonbigl, "PTSD" was one of the best in 2014, but "Scream" is least fav tracks:P.

Monch is super underrated, has 4 albums all are great!

Internal Affairs -3.5/5- a bunch of average and a couple weak jiggy beats, some weak guest emcees plus pharoahe did no next level shit like on the OK albums. beats are watered down compared to stress. a few actual weak tracks on it.

Desire- 3/5
W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) 3/5
PTSD: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 3.5/5

^all suffer from average beats (a few actually bad), too much singing bogging down tracks , some corny choruses and too much rock influence and too much neo soul influence.too abstract too.

he dosnt have 1 great solo and thats a fact.

pretty bad track record for solo albums.

at nightrider - you seem to ever rate a lot of shit. monch gets his due from legends, industry people, rap fans as a emcee and its known hes not good at making albums.

Gtfo (again!) no mask, on what drugs you are, some canadian new shit?

"you seem to ever rate a lot of shit" come from guy who likes westside, fahim, conway it's kind a ironic don't you think?

When I was just lurking here, I noticed you and your posts, thought we had a similar taste for shit now I know was completely off man with you boy!

Pharohe, O.C., Masta, Meyhem, Ghostface, Sean P, Your Old, Woods, Styles P, Evidence, Skyzoo, some of my all time favourites MC's and they are all gooood man.

You jump on Pharoahe's topic as on O.C.'s topic with your smart all-knowing shit...who do you think you are and what da fuck you ever did man?

I quietly think Pharoahe just picks the beats he wants to, caters to himself... sh*t Id do that too if I could spit like that, make the sh*t I wanna hear period.

That bein said, I feel maybe 5 joints off each his solos. Those joints combined are better than most discographies tho so it aint no thing

^LOL

gettin worked up!

conway, westside and fahim dropped better albums cause they picked waaaaay better beats and they dont use shitty neo soul singing hooks and rock guitars etc. i dont dig any of fahims 2018 releases and hes not a great emcee but hes better at making albums than monch solely based on beat selection.

"Meyhem, Ghostface, Your Old Droog, Woods, Styles P, Evidence, Skyzoo, some of my all time favourites MC's"

the next shit & the ass are the ONLY two weak tracks on internal affairs imo, they just don't belong. aside from that i don't really have any complaints. i think it's a great album.

Regarding P.T.S.D...

Pretty disappointing album. I'm not a fan of singing hooks but can tolerate one here and there. This album however seemed like it had one on every fucking track. And it wasn't Monch doing most of them.

Broken Again had a good concept, hook was aight, but only one verse?!?!? PTSD was aight, nothing special. Wasn't feeling the beat on D.R.E.A.M at all. Thought Eht Dnarg Noisulli wasn't half bad.

Overall just an average at best album with only a few tracks (Time2, Rapid Eye Movement, Bad M.F., The Jungle, Broken Again) having any sort of replay value. Monch obviously can spit with the best of them but inconsistent beats + below average hooks make this a 5.5/10 (Third Tier) album.
