Anybody peeps this one?

Black Cesar is made up of 13 tracks, with production handled by Roc Marciano, ELEMNT, Don Cee and himself. The only guest appearance on the project comes from Roc Marci, who spits a verse on “Shots Fire.” The album is only available on his website for now, but it’s likely to arrive everywhere else soon.

Element doesn't make beats good enough and dude is a total one trick pony without the stylings and delivery of a Wroc.

With that said it is a notch above crackhead shit like Griselda Lil Eto Meyhem Willie The Kid etc....

i will prob end up grabbing a cd if they drop one. hopefully kup handles that again. he had some excellent service in delivering me that 1st pirate cd and the attache case cd from milano the legend

look at that production lineup! some of the best doin it right now!

Flintlock was a really dope album and surprised the shit out of me as i thought there wasn't a chance in hell Knowledge could hold an entire album down by himself. This will either leak or be streaming at some point down the road. Looking forward to peeping it.

This track is DAFFY...

It leaked and is fucking horrible. Definitely cosign that he is a one trick pony. Nearly every song is talking about wearing Versace glasses, driving a Maserati or some other bullshit. His rhyme scheme is so basic and his lyrics are generic as shit. Weather, have you heard the whole album yet or are you just calling it your aoty based off the two songs posted. If you heard the whole thing and think this is the best album this year then you have some horrible taste. I know we differ on our opinon on Roc, but at least he is original. This guy sounds so generic. I do like the production, but this guy fucking sucks at rapping.

Still got some mixed feeling about this one, I guess he could just stop after "Flintlock", cause this one gives you nothing more or new.

Also agree on lyrics they are generic but production sounds nicer after a while...

But I'm still on it and doesn't bother me for now...and definitely NOT aoty LOL, it wouldn't pass even the first round!

you guys act like this year has been littered with amazing shit....so far i havent really heard anything this year that has made me want to listen a second time except this.

i thought the production was mostly pretty dope and knowledge, while not anything spectacular, is decent. he at least has a cool voice. trust me, i'm not hyper excited about the album, but it is the best thing i've heard this year (it is only march, and honestly has anything released this year that's been worth repeated listens)....it's not going up against much.

I do agree that this year has started off slow in terms of good releases, but there are a few that I think are WAY better than this. For example, the new albums by Blockhead, People Under The Stairs (might be my favorite so far), Blu & Oh No (great concept album), Czarface & Ghostface (not to good to be honest, but better than this imo), DJ Muggs & Eto, Small Professor & Sean Price (more of an EP but still a solid release).

I'm not trying to be a dick Weather, but this guy is fucking HORRIBLE on this album. I do like the production, but I cannot get past his shitty lyrics. They are so bad I can't overlook them. Most songs are set up like, "Catch me in my (insert exotic car), wearing (insert expensive glasses, usually Versace, or other designer clothes), selling drugs. My bitch be wearing (insert designer clothes brand) while we sailing on a yacht". And this is nearly EVERY verse in EVERY song. He has a few songs that change it up a bit, but most songs are set up exactly like that in every verse. His rhyme style is so basic. Usually just one or two syllable rhymes, no real clever wordplay or anything. The guy is so generic and dull that I can't even get into the good production. I'm not saying the dude needs to start spitting like Hex One or one of those crazy multi-syllabic rappers, but if you are just going to rap about your clothes and glasses at least try to do something interesting. He's basically a rapping advertisement for Versace and Maserati, but he sucks at it. Just based on the lyrics alone, this is probably the worst rap album I've heard in the past few months. It's disappointing because I did expect it to be better. I liked his last album and I do like the production on this one better. He had similar lyrics on Flintlock, but there was definitely more of a variety.

born dead, you liked his last album and like the production more here, but because the lyrics lack variety it's one of the worst albums you've heard recently? that doesn't make much sense to me honestly....it's pretty much the same as his last album, just with better beats, tbh.

at this point in my life i really couldn't care less what rappers rap about....as long as it sounds good. good flow, good voice, sounding like they know what the fuck they're doing is way more important to me than what they're actually saying. shit, we've heard it all at this point, i can't believe what mc's are saying still impresses people that much or holds that much weight. just listen to it and don't think too much.

he's not an amazing mc or anything, but he's not the worst either....he consistently gets good production though, which is important.

I agree with Weather in that with a guy like Knowledge you know what you're gonna get. Basic lyrics with little substance. So in a case like that as long as the beats are dope and his flow is tolerable then i can fuck with it. Is it going to by my AOTY with that formula? Fuck no but it can still have replay value.

Now someone known for their lyrics, wordplay, multi's, etc like Eminem then of course ill analyze and fine tooth comb the lyrics more.

Roc Marciano really spawned a generation of ockthese wannabe pimp/hustler, drug dealer, rolling in the bentley type stunnas.

Their infatuation with Mafia culture is also appalling.

Weather, lyric-wise I don't think its similar to his last album. Flintlock had a greater variety of story tracks & other street related tracks. Granted, there were a good amount of references to designer clothes and luxury stuff, but not anywhere close to Black Ceaser. The variety on Flintlock made it a better album to me. Also, Flintlock wasn't a great album to me. Probably didn't break my top 20 due to the fact that it didn't hold my interest much. As I said, I do like the production better on Black Ceaser, but the improved production did not make up for the overuse of references to luxury shit imo. I just expected a bit more. To me, its kinda the same way when The Game name calls people on The Documentary. He overdid the name calls on The Documentary to the point of when I listen to the album it sticks out to me and takes me out of the song. Don't get me wrong, I love that album, but it gets a little annoying.

Based on your tastes you value how the song sounds much more than what the rapper is saying in the song. Usually I value what they are saying more, but I get where you are coming from. If you are zoning out in your car and not really listening to what the Knowledge is saying it sounds pretty good. I just can't get over how repetitive his verses are. Kinda the same reason I feel Roc is overrated here. But Roc is WAAAY better than Knowledge and much more creative.
