I'm curious for the heads hating on it, what were you expecting? These are dark, hard hitting drum beats for the most part. That's the only type of beat i like hearing these Griselda dudes spit over.

As i and others have already said, they fucked up by naming this GOAT. If it would've been Reject 3 then this would've come with minimal expectations and would probably be getting more praise. Out of the Griselda releases that dropped this year, most of them being underwhelming, this is the best of the bunch.

I agree that they need to switch something up or they'll be irrelevant come 2019.

Banks needs to do a tape over Daringer production. He absolutely murked his verse and sounds perfect over that dark, grimy shit.

Iím just not really feeling this. No hate, just not my cup of tea. The beats arenít bad, but theyíre too repetitive for them to have much replay value for me.

My personal preference is content is usually lower tier to my interest of a verse. Iím focused more on cadence and voice. And I just really donít get into these guyís cadence. Benny was a highlight for me and Royceís verse kind of made me cringe hearing him trying to force that cadence. Clock, I would agree that Banks stood out on this as well.

And that Conway giggle is annoying as hell.

Iíve been posting here since this whole camp got a buzz and Iíve never once shit talked about them, but Iíve never really got into any of it. I really donít understand the hype or interest, but who am I to say whatís hot or not. I just like what sounds good to me. I say this because I want to be clear I ainít hating on these dudes or their grind, but their shit just doesnít capture my interest. At all.

And no mask, Iím really surprised that you are big upíing these beats. They are so simple. Not saying that some arenít dope, but thereís barely any layering to them and really simple loops. Not coming at you, just surprised you are feeling then as much as you are.

^theres skill in finding dope samples alone. and having the drive and patience to find them takes time and energy. and then to put the right drums over the samples takes knowledge (he isnt just guessing) and daringer is good at that and he is adding extra details on some of the beats. and the samples he comes with usually are REALLY ill music samples and then he puts the hardest drum break possible over it which always packs a punch. sure , he's not reinventing the wheel but he's making dope ass beats that may be simple but his formula is ill. i'll admit many of his beats are like quick fix-deliver the heat mega hard as soon as the beat starts-hits you i the face at first but then thats it.- its like the beats peak in the first 30 seconds- but that dosnt bug me- most classics and current beats are similar.

production skill/dopeness isnt mainly dependent upon complexity, layers, change ups. its mainly how dope the music samples and the drums are just like most of the golden era classics were simple but dope.

saying daringer sucks it extreme cause he's proven himself big time on this project and past ones like fly god, reject 2, all the hermes joints etc. his sound is amazig on all those older albums AND this one too. its just straight forward hard ass beats.

its like people want these guys to flop.lol

essay-jeez youd think i was getting paid by griselda but i'm just speaking based on principle.

It's a grimy street album. Not everyones cup of tea for sure but shit bangs hard in the whip. Perfect winter type of tape.

And this takes a gigantic doo doo all over that shitty Jada/Fab album that Barzini was dickriding when it dropped.

couple things:

1) i dont miss wsg and highly appreciate a full conway tape without him

2) daringer beats are very formulaic but so are premo's. granted his shit doesnt take the work or vision that premo's does but he's still super tasteful about picking samples and keeps his drums hard. agreed he doesnt flip vocal samples well

3) this tape knocks. front to back. i agree that the beats on flygod or reject 2 had a bit more variety but everything here is very solid

This album just shows a huge lack of effort from both Conway and Daringer and I guess Griselda as a hole.

The beats are uninspired plain and simple. The hard drums over the easiest to find samples don't get me going at all. Daringer is the definition of a one trick pony. He spins a record, hits sample and then hits repeat and looks at people to see if it's dope.

Conway's verses are above average on this but it's like he's been waiting on these special Daringer beats that never came.
This shit suffers massive without Westside Gunn too. What the fuck are they thinking? Somebody call Wes and tell him his people him need him now more than ever!

It all comes down to the beats, that Flygod shit is daffy

I check all there releases and take the best tracks and make my own mix

Clockworx you mentioned Banks and Daringer. And saying they should rock together more.

They might. Banks said something about working with Alchemist in 2018, and Daringer and Alchemist have been around each other a bit more recently, so I bet there's a solid shot that Daringer got more joints to Banks when they did Bullet Klub. Or if not, I'd bet we do hear more.

That'd be so dope. Even Banks/Alchemist would be ill as long as Alchemist provided him some darker beats. I feel like thats when hes at his best cause he was that lower toned, gritty vibe to his voice. Those Halloween Havoc tapes are my favorite work of his since the early 00's.

As far as this project goes, it seems to be split down the middle on the forum. Half think its dope and other half think it's straight doo doo.

For each there own but it does seem like some want it to suck. Some generalizing about the beats and exxagerating kind of exposes people may just want to not like it. Hypocritical too when i can point out many classic albums they love that have same style of beats.

People may have an agenda or non music related reasons for saying its weak.

no mask, you possibly right, but it's not that good. it's decent at best, Conway a one trick pony and he's basically said everything at least 3 times over...now he just redundant. the beats are ok, some more than others, but Daringer puts together a solid effort i think.

Can't lie, I fuck with this heavy.
It's so beastly in the whip.
He may repeat some of his lines & it is a tad formulaic to agree with some of the complaints here, but to me that's part of Conway's charm & appeal.
You pretty much know what you're getting with these dudes at this point, kind of like with Epidemic but on another soundscape.
You weren't possibly expecting a deeply introspective masterpiece with a sound unlike anything Griselda has released if you clicked that DL.
Most likely you were looking for witty grimy gritty street style shit with a dark sinister backdrop, and Conway's signature wordplay.
Only bad part is that we heard 2 of these jaunts already, but they are both not bad songs at all.
