What's up y'all about to Revist EgoClapper

But my Question is what's you're Favorite 7L and Esoteric Album/Cd?
I've seen a lot of hate on here in the Past about Esoteric to me he's a pretty Solid Emcee he's always been 1 of my favorites from Boston alongside Mr.lif Akrobatik Virtuoso..
I pretty much own all his Cds/Material
dude also has a pretty Decent Catalog..

No particular order

Soul purpose
Dc2 bars of death
Dangerous Connection
A New Dope
1212
Eso vs Japan
Gary Newman
Saving Seamus Ryan

the main flow is super good and that beyonder collab is instrumental.

all the stuff 7l did with eso is great. dangerous connection is my fav release by them, also loved dc2 and soul purpose. moments and rarities is awesome to. but eso has some great solo joints, egoclapper and pterodactyl in japan are amazing. love his insto album to "serve or suffer" got a signed copy from ughh actually of that.

its funny how we're all naming some different projects eso's been involved in and they're all pretty good and people keep adding on and nobody's repeated another persons response yet i dont think. dudes catalog is great, shouts to machete music and eca joints

who here gots the vinyl thug music cd with the infamous el-p and vast air disses?

they gave em' out free to us on their 7L-es website back in 02-03 whenever that was, one of the best freebies i ever got, the whole cd is dope w guest spots from electric co, celph titled, beyonder and more.

cage also smacked celph with a bottle like a cunt and got slapped up for it.

Didn't quite happen like that. I was at the show that night. Celph had punched Cage in the face about a year earlier from that show from what I heard.

Anyway it'll all went down really fast, but basically Cage stepped to Celph at the show and got shoved into the bar, he grabbed a beer bottle and smashed him right in the head with it and then someone else hit Celph. Celph was bloody and got kicked out of the show right after all that went down. Cage went on stage about an hour later and preformed.

I'm a big 7L & Esoteric fan. Got all their albums together. A few of Eso's solo albums, the two projects 7L did with Beyonder, and the Main Flow album 7L produced. My favorites are probably Dangerous Connection and A New Dope. I've got Machete Mode too but I agree with Daddy Alfredo that shit was pretty bad. IDK Stu Bangas beats are a little too in your face for me I guess.

I think it's funny how salty all the AOTP guys still seem to be over the beef with the Jux cats.

Celph Titled was still rapping about that shit on Nineteen Ninety Now. With the whole Chris Angel lookalike line toward Cage then the song where he recounted the incident yall are talking about.

Esoteric took shots at EL-P on 1212 talking about labels folding like cardboard after Def Jux closed down.

Then I read an Apathy Reddit one time and someone asked him about collabing with Aesop Rock and he responded that he would never do that.

that criss angel line is hysterical but i didnt think it was a cage diss. i dunno why aotp would be salty. every last one of the mainstays of that group are more successful then the def jux guys. aesop prolly got loot but not a millionaire and el-p is prolly the only one that has more money than paz does. celph and ap are way more successful than cannibal ox. and if i go toe to toe with eso and mr.lif its also no contest. i think even reef has better music than lif.

It's pretty hard for me not to come off like a Cage stan (I'm not) but Hells Winyer is a better album than any album to ever come out of the AOTP camp. The Aotp guys just rap blah blah blah. Cage and most of the other Def Jux guys have 1000x more content to their songs/albums.

thers more substance and diversity on def jux, i can admit that but vbd alone i think shits on def jux catalog. 1990 now is better than ne el-p joint. plus eso hooked up with deck and shit tooth el-p got killer mike who was only big in atlanta. thers prolly 50-60 albums outta both camps i own maybe even more. but as a fan i cant go with nething el-p is a part of. wish they still beefed tho, it would make ughh interesting again.

eso has also expanded beyond the angry wigger shit with his solos, his solos are experimental. and the czarface stuff is more street then it is angry wigger. plus he can make a nice beat, and i really dug apathys instrumental from this yr to. plus paz has gotten massive line ups of beat makers and features for his solos. makes def jux look broke. el-p is the only one eatin and aesop is only slobbed by ughh nerds and lupe lol.

plus aint no def jux on heavy metal kings 2. they bodied it and got back toward the top of the list this year.

ap/oc could've been better (i know how ya'll felt about it) but i bumped the shit outta the tape in my garage for a few months straight and now im hooked. the beats on the cd in the car sound different and less gritty compared to the cassette. get the tape gino!

Fuckin’ with Celph’s rare, not too many wanna do it
But the ones that did got they record label ruined
Made you switch angles, somethin’ ain’t lookin’ right
Underground rappers turned to Criss Angel lookalikes?
That’s what a faggot’s lookin’ like, so fuck anybody that knows ya
You a coward and a poser
I’m about flows that roast ya
Your shit’s dead, it’s leftover french bread from Stouffers burnt in my toaster
Certainly it’s over, y’all gotta start with a new scheme

Definitely a Cage diss and EL-P too. Cage went from thug drug addict to emo.

I don’t know why they would be salty either they are more successful with more money but they are the only ones that were rapping about the shit a decade after it happened.

Just wondering how you guys are coming to the conclusion that celph or any of the lower tier Aotp members are more successful then any of the def jux guys? Are you just guessing that?

Could be true, but I wouldn't know. Why I'm asking how you know?

Someone like celph hasn't even dropped an album in how many years?

When Bluestratoss asked who was top seller on the site Clock brought it up that AOTP cats have been best sellers on here since Quest owned the site. I've seen virtually for years now that they have been the top sellers here.

Honestly, Aesop has a huge following unlike what Daddy Alfredo said so I don't know about him and EL-P is probably straight too. The rest idk.

DC2 has a couple joints, so does Soul Purpose

Never got into Czarface or any other releases

His disses bodied El-P and Vast Aire

Well been on plenty of 12”s and Albums for that matter. Hell Apathy let Eso spit solo on a beat on Eastern Philosophy. He coulda done some shit like that with Celph and at least addressed it just a few years after it happened lol.
