Keith has always been one of my favorite rappers (in fact I did an album by album review of his entire discog), but over the last handful of years I've slowed down on peeping his stuff. To say he's been inconsistent would be an understatement, and honestly at this point I only really check for his projects if it has a strong producer behind it.

This shit though? This shit right here, DAFFY. I wasn't at all prepared for how damn good this is. First thing that struck me was how great Keith sounded. I had gotten so use to him using that lazy, sleepy, lethargic non-rhyming flow that to hear him come back on his vintage Dr. Dooom style shit shocked me. His performance here is literally as good as anything he ever did in his prime. This dude said "The mink coat melts of my shoulders like butter". Possibly the illest shit ever.

Also his production on here is fucking great. Dude has always, ALWAYS been a weak producer in my opinion. He's had a few gems here and there, but for the most part I don't dig his production style. He did some good shit on this one though, just peep these joints

how he got from his Spankmaster shit to here I'll never know, but damn it's smooth. Also the guest features are all (almost) dope. Godfather Don especially melts his shit. Necro though, man I appreciate him trying to do a Kool Keith inspired style, but that's got to be the single worst performance I've ever heard from him.

I'm sure you guys had your discussions about this, but again I didn't bother peeping it when it came out so I didn't take the time to read up on it either. Anyone here have any thoughts? Gino, I know you're a Keith guy too.

it was def in my top 5 of 2016 graph. he gave the fans everything they wanted and then some. even tho thats a man on the cover, i have no issues with this album. the keith/necro track is epic and i always feel blessed as a rap fan wen keith and doom link up.

its dope overall and 5 or 6 really dope tracks but a few tracks suffer from keiths production gone wrong and his lazy rhymes.

Word gino, fuck being 50 and having more kids. I just turned 30 and I'm starting to work on more kids now and part of me is scared as fuck of having to completely start all over. I think we're gonna try to knock out like 2 or 3 back to back and call it good lol.

You guys think Keith picked the features for this or the label did? Lot of these seem like...well I guess not odd choices since they mesh so well, but I just don't see Keith as the guy to reach out to so many "bigger" names. Usually, he surrounds himself with no-names and shit. Seems odd to me that he would reach out to guys like Slug and Ras.

Also the chick on the cover is def suspect. I've had my doubts as well, the lack of any real curves being my main hangup. It's Keith though, I could definitely see him getting a good chuckle out of putting a dude on the cover.

They linked up through DOOM. Keith was on the last Atmosphere album.

Yeah, I actually do remember that Atmosphere shit now that you mention it. And I can see the connection with most every artist here, again though if you look at Keith's career he's never been one to reach out to dudes like this, especially in such high volume. But over the course of his last few releases he's worked with all the dudes on this, Open Mike Eagle, J-Live, Paul Barman, and Mr. Lif on Time? Astonishing!, Cormega and AG on the Ray West joint, ect.

I'm just wondering if he has a guiding hand behind the scenes or if he finally just decided he wanted to put in more work with established artist.

Alf - why would you cry having a kid like that at 50? Too much responsibility at that age?

I'm not feeling that woman either, not my type. But whatever floats his boat.

Album was garbage like usual. Let's pray Automator whips his ass into shape for Moosebumps. That first single is dope cause of the beat and scratching but I'm worried he's gonna be talking about Octagon the whole time and not playing the character.

Alf - word.

I hope Keith delivers on The new Octagon.

On the live show videos i think you can hear him do more new tracks. That's where I first heard Octagon Octagon. Then there's crazy one with a chorus about Doctor heading to the hospital.

Heres the link

It's around and before the 14min mark

Gp. I never checked this bc I figured itíd be more of that style heís been doing like on ray west etc. and I like that style but it was getting stale.

Just checked for this and itís totally the Keith style Iíve been hoping to hear again. All the features are on point too imo I even liked Necro & Slug on here.
