close, i was born in 91 lol. what year am i allowed to start at then?

obviously i realize the same nostalgia isn't there for me compared to someone who heard them when they first dropped and grew up with them would. that doesn't mean i don't like them though, or i can't compare albums based on what else was out at that time. those are just my picks based on what i heard.

lol this thread is funny. we know how to scare off the new guys.

docs da name best ever??? interesting

i ain't gon make fun cuz if you like it that much, eh i'll be dat.

i remember getting that for xmas in 8th grade cuz i liked the single back when i was mostly bumping the singles and the songs on the tape/cd right after the single and not the rest of the cd lol so i traded it in after a year or so. got it again since and its not bad at all but no favorite of mine from him or that year

and tippis list is cool but super chron emergency powers shoulda made da list not verdiii lol

so 1996 you was in kindergarten, which means you still didn't even know what rap was...when did you actually even realize wtf you was listening to? (and don't say 1996)

yeah i never said that i heard any of those 90s albums when they first dropped or that i was really listening to hip hop then, or music in general really. my brother is 12 years older than me and he played a lot of rap when i was growing up, but i don't think i actually listened to a full hip hop album until around 2000 or 2001 when i started borrowing cds from him. the first albums i remember hearing were 36 chambers, wu-tang forever, it's dark and hell is hot, slim shady lp, and stankonia.

The fact you chose Young Buck over the following albums automatically makes your list null and void...

Madvillain - Madvillainy
Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer
MF DOOM - Mm.. Food
Masta Killa - No Said Date
k-os - Joyful Rebellion
Royce da 5'9" - Death Is Certain
OC - Starchild

Judging by how easily Tm gets baited into responding, i hope he sticks around and types up more lists for us to critique.

That Method Man album from 2006 was one of the biggest heaps of shit from that year. And I'm a gigantic Method Man fan. That album sucked.

Ghostface - Fishscale
The Roots - Game Theory
Dilla - Donuts and The Shining
Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury
Bronze Nazareth - The Great Migration
Darc Mind - Symptomatic of a Greater Ill

And about 50 other albums from 2006 are better than the Method album.

It's not bottom of the barrel but it's nowhere's close to being best of the year. Even in a down year, which 2006 was, it probably wouldn't crack my Top 40-50.
