^^ Muggs is top 2 of all time for me. Thereís only RZA that I put higher than Muggs.

Pete Rock, Large Pro and even Premo donít come close to RZA and Muggs for me.

Some of my favourite beats of his are on House Of Pains 2nd album and Funkdoobiest 2nd, I wonder if there's a full album by Call of the Wild in his vault, If I'm not mistaken he is meant to have produced most of the Whooliganz unreleased album too which I doubt will ever see

^^ Agreed! The 2nd HoP album is ill and has some of Muggsí dopest shit. Those fuckin basslines!!

The Call Oí Da Wild album was supposedly done. I wish Muggs would drop a load of unreleased joints from the vault. He said years ago that he has unreleased Temples of Boom era joints. He also dropped a snippet on Instagram a few days ago of an unreleased track he did with Godfather Pt 3 back in the 90ís. Shit sounded ill.

I'm sure you guys have heard this before...

"This excellent DJ mix appeared as a limited edition bonus disc on early pressings of the vinyl and CD versions of Cypress Hill's "III: Temples Of Boom" in '95. It works great as a companion piece to that LP, which happens to be my personal favorite in the Cypress catalogue, as DJ Muggs shows off some ill turntable wizardry while mixing together eight standout cuts from the group's earlier career. The result is 20 funky minutes of the classic, groove heavy Cypress Hill sound that's guaranteed to enhance any smoking experience, hence the name. The whole mix was mastered onto one long track, taking up one side of a LP or one disc of a CD. Since all versions of the album including it are however long out of print, I thought it was fair game to upload it for anyone who might've missed out on it."

Clock, nah Iím not on Spotify. I donít really do the whole streaming music thing. I still DL everything and stick it on the iPhone.

LPac, I always consider Smugglers Blues a part of the actual album. I didnít know it at the time but the very first copy of temples that I bought was the Japanese version and it had Smugglers Blues as the last track. It was only when I lost that copy, rebought it and it didnít have Smugglers on that I realised it was a Japan only bonus track.

Iíve got a couple other Muggs compilations that Iíll upload tonightÖ thereís a Call Oí Da Wild compilation that I put together a while back with every track that they put out. Iíve got a Muggs Remixes compilation which has got some dope stuff on (and some weird stuff Ė remixes of Simply Red and Depeche mode) and Iíve got a Muggs productions compilation of random tracks he has produced throughout the years.

Iíll get them all upped tonight.

The mix on the MP3 you upped is horrible. Nearly popped an upper mid in my speakers. Did you straight up the digital files to HHB or did you "normalize" them or something? The stream sounds fine but downloaded they are deadly for a good system.

I thought so. There's a part that clipping in the mix, I don't think my man Muggs sent this in for a master, lol. Meyhem killed this beat, too bad Everlast got dug out the ground for his bars...

01. Temples of Boom - an absolute masterpiece! One of the very first hip-hop albums I ever listened to back in late '95. This and Tical were pretty much my introduction to real hip-hop!

The production is just insane. Creates an atmosphere that just sucks you in to a different realm. Muggs said in an interview years ago that it was because of the shit that B-Real was writing about that made Muggs go even darker with the beats. One of my all time personal favourite albums. I can't pick a fault with it. Locotes is probably my favourite Cypress Hill track... gets me fuckin' hype as hell every time I hear it!

02. Cypress Hill IV - Love this under rated album. Discussed it in depth in a separate thread not too long ago. Muggs was still fuckin with that dark sound. Shit like Prelude To A Come Up and From The Window Of My Room are classic and Clash Of The titans is right up there with my favourite Cypress joints! That beat is fuckin epic, like ancient armies marching in to battle or some shit!! Dr. Greenthumb is dope too, that beat is dust as fuck!

Only thing that knocks this album down slightly is that it was also the start of the rock/rap cross over shit which I wasn't a fan of.

03. Black Sunday - So many dope joints on here and this is one of my favourite periods of Muggs productions, when he was fuckin with those dope basslines, real ominous sounding shit. They're all over this album on joints like Lick A Shot, Cock The Hammer, Ain't Going Out Like That, etc. It was around the same time he did the second House of Pain album too and his beats on there are mainly bassline driven too, Back From The Dead, Runnin' Up On Ya, etc.

04. Cypress Hill - Some dope joints on here but I don't tend to revisit this album very often. Pigs is classic and Kill A Man. Stoned is the Way of the Walk is probably my favourite on here, always loved that beat.

05. Till Death Do Us Part - I kinda like this album. There's some absolute wack joints on here... Ganja Bus is fuckin horrible and so is Latin Thugs.

Never Know is dope as fuck. Love that beat! Last Laugh is dope and the bonus track Roll It Up Again is nice!

06. Skull & Bones - the Rap disc only! Think I played the Rock disc once when this album dropped and never touched it since! There's a few good beats on the rap disc. Cuban Necktie is by far the stand out track on here imo. Grimey as fuck!

07. Stoned Raiders - Hmmmm not sure what Muggs was doing here! Trying to make a full on west coast sounding album?? I don't know. It doesn't work though. Only tracks I really like on here are Red, Meth & B (even though the beat is a bit casio keyboard-ish) and Here Is Something You Can't Understand, even Kurupt manages to spit a decent verse!

08. Rise Up - I don't even consider this a Cypress Hill album. It's more like a B-Real solo, featuring Sen Dog. Only 3 Mugs beats?? Fuck outta here with that shit!!

And what the fuck was that Armada Latina track??? Sampling Crosby, Stills & Nash???!!! What ever happened to B-Real spitting "I never rapped on an R&B record and I never will" back in '95??!

I've only rated the proper albums, I haven't included the Unreleased & Revamped EP (even though there was some dope shit on there) and I haven't included the Live at the Fillmore album or the Spanish album.

What about you Grafh, what's your ratings...???

^^ The drum and bass thing wasnít even a failure, it just wasnít for the hip-hop heads.

Muggs was touring all over Europe and DJibg massive venues on the EDM / Drum n Bass tip.

But I do agree itís good to have Muggs back on that griney hip-hop shit!

I love UK drum and bass/Dubstep.. Muggs came with that commercial clownstep for the dancefloor. No substance to his dubstep tracks just pure shitty wobble. I'm sure he had fun dj'ing that shit though to drugged out kids.

Yeah it's all 97/98 as far as I know. One or two tracks even earlier than that.

I'm not at home right now, but a few tracks I can recall are...

Scandalous (first ever recorded Psycho Realm track, produced by The Baka Boyz)
All Along The Watch Tower
Forget The Faces
False Prophets
Needful Things
Envisions
Lunatics In The Grass (from Bulworth soundtrack)
Poison Rituals (Pow Wow)
Circles Of Sin
Stone Garden (Pete Rock Remix)

There's a few more that I can't remember right now. All dope as fuck.
