At this point Roc has 4 certified classics plus the UN album and all of his dillion features. Canít forget about his production and also donít forget Knowledge The Pirate is his friend. I think itís fair to say that we are watching the greatest of all time here.

The UN only ever having one album is a travesty but at least their breakup gave us the #1 rapper of all time.

a lot of d-riding going on about this album, shit is decent...but d-riding on the internet, especially social media, is the hip thing. everyone need to calm down, this album is decent, stop with all that "AOTY" talk

I've tried two more spins in the car and I'm throwing in the towel. The beats are just too shitty to give this any hope. I always gave this dude credit for his mixes because I thought he was going for a certain sound. Like when Madlib does off time shit, you know it's calculated, it's not cause he's a noob fuck, you know? But I'm starting to think Roc might just have a really bad ear behind the boards. I mean once you've bounced the multi-track down to stereo and handed it in to master, there's only so much the next man can do.

On my first listen and checking against crOwcaine's beat review. Pretty much on point. 'Saks Fifth' is laughably good/bad.

i actually liked Rosebudd's Revenge and think he def got some classics under his belt ...but i think with these type of albums you need to time to marinate on it and even revisit it further in the year to really get a sense if it's "AOTY" worthy

Looking forward to hearing this. Roc is a top 10 hip hop artist all time as far as I'm concerned. If you don't dig his style that's fine but his bars are always sharp.

Need CDs of this for sure.

Weather, no mask, rolo, and myself are all at least in our mid 30's so it's not an age thing at all. I'd actually be more surprised if younger heads fucked with Roc cause he's the polar opposite of shitbags like Migos, Future, etc.

"67 Lobby" and "Power" are classic Roc Marc to me..The whole album is good, better than chapter one imo, and as the game looks like for the past several years, of course it'll be top 2-3 at the end of the year.

I re-listened to Bronson's verse and hope the dude was trolling when he said he shed tears. The comment had like 20 likes though so clueless as to what in his verse made people shed tears.

After another listen i forced myself into believing this is the AOTY so far.

In all seriousness this album is fucking terrific. As usual with this forum, you either love or don't get the hype with Roc. Glad im the former.

Ok, after bumping it a bit I think this is a little better than the first one but not by much. Half dope half okay. 67 Lobby is hard as fuck. So is Kill You. Bohemian Grove is nice. The Action Bronson track is dope, and I like Respected too. The Sauce, Muse, and Bedspring King I can do without. I see why people don't like Saks Fifth, it sounds a bit like a radio jingle, but something about it is intriguing.

I think this and Rosebudd's Revenge are essentially equal although Bitter Dose is a bit more experimental with the beats. Roc is still spitting dope shit as expected.

^ Yeah the smoked out jazzy vibe is cool, the dude talking over the beat just makes it kind of hard to listen to. Roc is spitting dope.

I just listened to the album again at home and it sounded way better, I think listening to it at night enhances the sound. Tracks 8-10 (Bedspring King, The Sauce, Happy Endings) was the only portion I wasn't really feeling.

The CD version I have has all the tracks in alphabetical order so it messed up the cohesion. Listening to it properly on YouTube made it way better. This is a dope album. I can't say it is great but 8.5/10 for sure.

And for those who don't like Roc's rhymes that's fine, I'm just not sure you are catching all of his references. His wordplay is sick and he strings all his lines together flawlessly. Yeah he spitting a lot of "gangster" shit and boastful lavish lifestyle but he is clever and makes it sound genuine.

with the bath water don't throw the baby out the window That made me laugh, and yes I know the expression.

For me it doesn't have a track the caliber of Marksmen but not as many tracks i wasn't feeling either. Much more of an even listen with Bohemian Grove, Kill You, and 67 Lobby being the top shelfers for me. I'm surprised there wasn't a Metal Clergy track on here.

feeling it more now then i was.its really dope. like i always say-you gotta be in the right mood when listening to Roc albums with those laid back beats. top 2 tracks for me are CVS and The Sauce. samples are just too dope. different samples and sound for him-props for experimentation/departing from regular formula and he flows different (faster) on the sauce. i like that line "what'd you say about my mommas biscuits?" Next top tracks for me are kill you, 67 lobby, happy endings (cool that he's vibing out singing and it adds a different element), major league is really ill too. only issues i have are a couple beats are boring and the muse is a mess.

this album is definitely a sequel album. roc doesn't sound as hungry/mean as he did on RR1, and there's less thematic cohesion (where the citize kane samples at on this one?). one of my fav things about the first one was how mean he sounded on it. it was dark. this album doesn't have any of that mood in it, from what i'm hearing. not in the beats and not in roc's voice. the first track on RR1, roc came out with a statement with the vocal tone he had on that track. there's nothing on RR2 like that. roc sounds comfy on this one, which is too bad. it's a softer album. this album reminds me of ghostface's more fish, in a bad way.

i don't understand the hype behind bohemian grove at all, tbh. the beat's meh, sounds like a kanye/just blaze ripoff from the rocafella hey days, and the cadence of knowledge's "hook" is not good to me. at all.

with all that said, i'm feeling some of the tracks a lot, and roc's still one of my current fav rappers. i don't hate this album, i'm just getting my complaints out of the way first. anyway, fav tracks after a few listens are bedspring king, kill you, muse, power.

nothing on this album is touching RR1 tracks, such as pimp arrest, move dope, rosebudd's revenge, or no smoke. there's a character, a mood, in those beats that is lacking on bitter dose.

one thing i like about roc is the diversity in character and style he has. he can be the pimp on the curb one minute, and the kid in the alleway with the boxcutter the next. RR1 shows that diversity, whereas on RR2 he plays less roles, if that makes sense. there aren't any tracks from the back alley, like there were on RR1.

what i like about Roc is him building his brand without the help of labels or even labeling himself indie or independent. he was able to this without giving too much attention to the hip-hop media.. or even gain worldwide fame. it just comes out natural what i love about all this so much..

I agree the good songs on RR1 are better than the second one. Nothing is touching Burkina Faso. When Roc opens up with: chase money, taste bubbly, aches I get the shakes takes more than cocaine to numb me. That shit gives me the chills, that line just really resonates with me. Marksmen is also perfection. Props to Animoss for producing two gems.

I agree that there isn't a song here as good as Burkina faso or marksmen....

my thing is though, this album is better all the way through. the backhalf of rosebudds 1 is kinda a snoozer upon repeated listens. after marksmen, you've pretty much heard the best of what the album has to offer and there's nothing after that touching the quality of those first 9 songs...herringbone, pimp arrest, and pig knuckles are serviceable....but the other 3 tracks are just boring...already might be my least favorite roc track ever.

this album doesn't have that drop off and doesn't have tracks like already and here I am which just drag the overall thing down.

I don't know I guess I just like the vibe on rr2 a little more....that smoked out, lounge vibe just sounds better to me for him as an mc....rosebudds 1 is dope, don't get me wrong, I just feel like rr2 takes it a step further and sounds more natural in the process.
