Wish the full stream was up instead of just one track. The track is dope tho. I'm feeling this dude lyrically for sure. Got some witty bars.

^better be. hes too new to be pulling that exclusive shit and hes asking $25 for the digi EP! lol. he better slow down. people are just gonna get it off HHB with that price. watching these dudes have too much freedom in pricing, marketing their own stuff and watching fans spend large amounts is like watching a car accident in slow motion.

yeah. if the price is reasonable, i'll gladly support. $25 for a digital only release, though? and we can't even hear it, beforehand? nah.

metralatta, for example, was $7.77 for 7 tracks. i'm fine with paying that. but he rushes the next project out a couple weeks after, and wants people to pay three times as much. it's inconsistent. why would this EP be three times as much as the one from two weeks ago? no reason is given. so why would i spend three times as much? (in the last sentence, by "i", i meant the general customer, rather than me, specifically)

i mean, if jay electronica put out a six track EP today for $25, then okay. that's a little more reasonable, because there's the impression that a lot of hard work went into the seven tracks, since it's been years since he put out a "project". at the very least, since it's been so long since his last release, the music feels more special, if you're a jay fan. but, if the EP is the second EP this guy's released within a month, it doesn't give the impression that these tracks are worth more than the reasonable amount (and definitely not three times as much as the last EP). it seems, instead, like the project was made hastily, since the last project came out not even a month ago. who wants to pay three times the reasonable amount for hastily thrown together music? i'm not saying the music isn't good, i'm just saying it's presented like it's been rushed together, rather than like a lot of hard work went into it. a lot of hard work probably did go into it, i'm just saying, if you put a lot of work into something, don't present it like it's just the next EP this month. fast food costs way less than fancy restaurant food for a reason. you're undermining your own hard work, if you just hastily put it out there, and don't give any impression that it's more important than the last thing. why would anybody pays three times as much as the last EP, when there's no indication that this EP is worth three times as much?

the worst part about it, to me, is the context. the EP from two weeks ago was seven bucks. now you charge three times as much for a new EP? that's so odd.

this strange and unexplained behaviour honestly just encourages people to D/L your music through HHB, rather than support it with their money.

and they would be smarter to not encourage the "illegal" downloads by keeping prices respectable. especially when your a new artist.

The dude is nice. I do wanna hear this. But I don't wanna pay $3.50 per track to hear the EP. (he sends you a 7th if you message him on Bancamp). Maybe on Vinyl I'd consider that price.

I ain't mad at him though, get it where you can. We have no say in what value anyone decides to place on their product outside of our power of purchase. I personally purchase way too much music to spend $25 on an EP and not have something to touch. With that same money I can buy both the new Apathy/O.C. and Rock albums on CD. I felt the same way about Al.Divino's Dump release. I think he's super dope but 44.44 for a digital EP instead copped me the Wordsworth CD, Willie The Kid Vinyl and Dopplegangaz CD with 10 bucks to spare that if I categorize into money spent on music, I copped the Recognize Ali digital d/l with. As a consumer, my spending habits have limits and I am not limited to a select set of talented artists with inflated price tags.

What's so hard to understand about the concept of fair pricing in an oversaturated market? I bought Metralleta and will likely end up copping the CD version too from Fxck Rxp at some point.

Call me broke all you want but my 3 kids eat and sleep in comfort everyday. It's not a knock to the artist to say "I'm not willing to pay that much." It's the reality of your perspective as a consumer.

That said, I'm willing to pay to see this kid perform live.

charging this much just shows they are out to take advantage of hip-hop lovers. All they want is the money. Same with Fahim and his entire crew.

I'll gladly download this for free when it leaks, just like I did with that shitty Mach-Hommy album that was selling for like $200....dumb shit

I don't think there's a solid reason behind the random price hiking. We can all theorize till the cows come home but we'll never really know. For instance Crimeapple might've underestimated how many heads ended up copping his first EP for $11. As a result, he figured he'd test the market and up the price to $25 and see if the same amount of heads would cop. That number would dictate how much he's going to charge for the next album.

When he dropped Metralleta he already had a $25 tag on a pre-order for Perfect. I assumed it was an album though.
