You have Glaswegians who missed there flights home passed out in their own filth on dope all over the globe, maybe. Be realistic. Scots are not a tough ethnic group in the States.

I probably won't visit Scotland anytime soon. If I wanted to go see a dump, I'm sure my city has one and it would be much cheaper for me to just drive there instead of buying a plane ticket.

Yeah, looks breath taking. All of the soccer hoodlums passed out in the streets in their own piss from taking handfuls of Valium. What a sight.

Illmatic, easily for me.
- illmatic is more consistent. Every song is classic, not a moment wasted. Infamous had some forgettable songs.

- illmatic has a wider variety of production. It was a collaboration of many of the dopest producers from the golden age.

- illmatic has a wider variety of tones. Every song on the infamous is hard and grimey. Illmatic has hard songs like "ny state of mind" or "represent" but then gets very smoothe and introspective with "lifes a bitch" or "memory lane", then you got the loose, throwback flow on "one time 4 your mind"

at prof

you really think "one time for your mind" is that good? average basic beat, weak chorus- seems like a waste of space/filler. that leaves 8 dope tracks imo and thats just not enough. i also find lifes a bitch and one love depressing and a bit boring.

to me illmatic is great lyrically and most of the beats but they fucked up big time by including "one time 4 your mind" and just having 9 tracks.

im not even trying to be a dick. loved illmatic for years then didnt hear it for about 5 years. revisited it and had these realizations. i just really think people bought into the insane media hype to worship illmatic. he had so much industry power promoting him. if it had 2 more dope tracks that wernt depressing like halftime etc. i'd be behind it way more.

most songs on the infamous are over four minutes. even the greatest beat in the world gets repetitive, eventually. perhaps the problem with infamous is the beats were too good. havoc and p loved them too much to cut them down. less is more. kill your babies.

While the Infamous is a classic no doubt, its not on the same level as Illmatic.

Musically Illmatic is on par with albums that transcend genres. Im talking about Miles Kind Of Blue, Marvin Whats Going On etc.

Im an old head so when Nas came out it was like Nirvana to rock and roll kids.

No one could figure out why Rakim was so advanced lyically for years. Nas was the one who did it. He literally bridged the gap. Im not gonna explain how. You should know this already.

The hype for Illmatic was unreal. This was when The Source was pretty much the only place to get info on ughh. He was this teenage prodigy from around the way with a gift for being able to tell stories about growing up in Queens NY. It was almost like he was watching it happen from afar, only doing dirt when he was forced to by circumstance.

The production line up was crazy. Hip Hop greats like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, LES and Q-Tip provided an incredible backdrop for Nas to catch wreck.

Infamous was great. Illmatic was perfection.

but is not even a fair comparison when is a solo album with barely a featuring and couple of hooks by the producers(the world is yours and one love) while in the other you have, nas ghost big noyd, q tip rae, all killing and even so still illmatic killed infamous

there is one solo album i personally think is better than illmatic and it has a similar amount of guest appeareances (ready to die

so what do u think tm1994 ready to die or illmatic i expect a lot of heat but i say ready to die

felipedahiphopadict01 i just seen this, i like Ilmatic better than ready to die but ready to die a classic, i like infamous better than them both because im a bigger mobb deep fan than big or nas, when i seen nas live i was more excited about him playing shook ones as a tribute to P and it lived up to expectations. That was a bit off topic but there ya go.
