initial thoughts after 1 thorough listen. solid release and dope but feels like its missing emcees! beats are very dope but not enough change ups or detail in them (even with the scratching and vocal clips) to make it a stimulating enough instrumental listen. a dope listen but would have been better with emcees. also these guys on the cuts/scratches are just average. dope samples that relate to the concept but basic Dj shit. basically if they featured a great DJ or Dj's to make the scratching aspect more interesting/next level it would be way doper. add some emcees and it would have been super dope. the banana vocal clip they scratch on banana got annoying and ruined the beat. may have to check out the instrumental version. im a picky old prick though. dope album.

^i agree man. never any change ups, usually not much detail. kind of one trick ponies and sometimes like you said their shit sounds thin. they make dope ass beats but not sure its great for instrumental listening.

^pretty much although Alc been branching out the past few years with more change ups, layers and creative efx usage etc. but yeah i agree in general -many alc beats arnt suited for instrumental albums.

got this last night, but haven't given it a listen yet. going to in a bit. excited for it. it's been a long time since these guys put out an instro album, and i never listen to any of their songs with rappers. i always skip to the instrumental versions of those same songs. so them putting out an instro album is what i like to see.

i was a bit too critical. beats are really dope as i said and their are some ill details, breakdowns, fills and layers in the beats, dope drums etc.

It's short, but I love it. Fun concept.

I think the only track I'd heard before was the coffee one, which they released as a single years and years ago. Dope track.

anyone actually listen to this and using the scratch and sniff book?

Does it enhance the experience like a pokey bum wank?
