i think it was actually more respected back then...

the creativity w/ the bomb squad was off the charts




theres over 20 samples on that. melody, counter melody, drums, laying out the multi-tracks....done just like george martin, quincy jones, etc but with more innovation



and producers like marley marl (goat in my opinion) were dropping hits every year & flipping different styles (sped up soul samples, etc)

Naw Kanye galvanized the art. Made it sound better. Can't think of any 90s or 80s beats with samples that are better than any of Kanyes beats
