I know we still have 2 months to finish the year but so far he produced the following albums:

Medellin (for Smoovth)
Remo Geggi (for Daniel Son)
Voynich Manuscript (for Phyba Optikz)

The MCs might not be everyone's cup of tea but nobody can delisoute the quality of the beats

Did we have any producer doing better than him this year?

Medellin Part 2 (w/ Smoovth) is almost finished, Santa Maria (w/ Daniel Son) is in the pipeline as well.

Recognize Ali project "Back 2 Mecca" is available next week.

He's one of the best imo.

I didn't know about him till 2 or 3 months ago, so I don't know how was his music was before 2017.

But so far the quality of the albums he produced this year is impressive (beats wise).

I agree that many of his beats have a similar sound (that happens to lot of producers) but that doesn't change the fact that he produced 3 albums with really good beats from start to finish.

If you guys think there was a better producer than him this year please let me know!

The purpose of the thread is not only to praise his work but also to find out if there was someone as good as him this year

him and lewis parker both have fucking great noir hip hop beats, but they all kind of sound the same after a while.

lewis parker is slightly better than giallo. i dig giallo alot cuz of those italian library records but a ton of those (the originals) even sound super similar. like switch it up dawg.

parker's been doing it longer. he's got more variety to his sound, but, lately, it's all been the same noir style. it's great, but it gets repetitive, and he's shown in the past that he can be more versatile than he has been over the last few years.

daniel son is a real good rapper but if u peep his stuff with giallo it all runs together. its sad. and i think that medellin pt. 2 might be leftovers. thers so many foreign producers who need to step up ther mc choice and even american ones. half them beats fahim gave himself would sound better with like 30 other rappers.

Anything I wanted to say was already in here. Giallo also has work with Da Buze Bruvaz and the Rec Ali & Medellin 2 joints coming, plus his remix and instrumental work. I'd say a strong argument could be made for him. Not sure who I would make my #1 this year tho. If I had the time & desire to listen to all of the Fahim stuff there's a good chance he'd get my vote.

one of the best...without question. that "best" title hard to give one person, can't be throwing that around all loose like that

Giallo is aight. Nothing that great. Loops a sample for four bars. Throws a break under it. Done. For the most part. I like a bit of production with my beats. Some layers. But that's me

dj rolo when I refer to him as probably the best producer of the year is not because of the quantity and quality of the albums he produced from beginning to end.

If he only released one of the albums I mention in the OP I wouldn't give him that title. But releasing 3 albums on one year which beats would deserve a 8/10 or 9/10 for me is a major achievement.

If you are a great producer it might not be so difficult to produce one album very well, but 3 within a year...that's impressive
