Apollo Brown was asked to record an alternate album at the same time as Adrian Younge created “Twelve Reasons To Die.” Keep in mind, the legendary Detroit producer (Apollo Brown) was given access to Ghostface Killah’s recordings and constructed beats around GFK's work.

This dropped 5 years ago. They're just doing a re-release of it with different artwork but nothing different in terms of the songs or beats. It's not as good as the OG 12 Reasons.

Previously when it was released it was just a mixtape. Now it is being released as an official album for the first time. It is finally being added to streaming services and getting a physical release as well. Brown vinyl currently up for pre order on the UGHH store.

I actually prefer Apollo's version over the original. But they're both good

Song by song with who i thought produced the track better...

1. Beware of the Stare - Apollo Brown (both are dope though)
2. Rise of the Black Suite - Adrian Young
3. I Declare War - Adrian Young
4. Blood on the Cobblestones - Apollo Brown by default
5. The Center of Attraction - Adrian Young
6. Enemies all Around Me - Apollo Brown
7. An Unexpected Call - Adrian Young by a mile
8. Rise of the Ghostface Killah - Adrian Young (both dope)
9. Revenge is Sweet - Adrian Young by a mile
10. Murder Spree - Adrian Young (more i listen to AB's version i like it more than i did at first)
11. The Sure Shot - Adrian Young (both dope)

Great read...

The Apollo Brown version had physicals (cds/tapes) drop 5 yrs ago.

I think this is a re-release for the vinyl.

Not sure if there was a vinyl release 5 yrs ago so maybe thats why its getting a re-release.

Hella people think its a brand new release.

It’s a re-release through Mello Music Group. The first release was on Soul Temple. MMG must have got the rights to re-release it themselves, hence the new artwork, etc.

It already dropped on CD and Vinyl back when the original 12RTD dropped.

^Exactly. I own the Vinyl LP and the CD and I own the original Adrian Younge version on CD.

This is way better than the original.

Adrian Younge doesn't know how to produce hip-hop.
