Since the 2007 one was such a success, we're going to keep doing it bi-weekly. The next year up is obviously 2003. Nominate away and the thread will closed for nominations Saturday night. Monday morning we'll start the voting.

most of the ones I enjoyed were already listed

this year was kinda weak in terms of overall staying power....most of these albums were ok for their time, but have aged pretty poorly (sin-a-matic and the darkest cloud for example). nothing truly noteworthy although a lot of enjoyable music at least.

Not the best year. Just glancing at the albums - Champion Sound, Time Being, and Southerunderground are miles ahead of the others. The Listening and Sin A Matic are dope. So is Vaudeville Villain and 8 Million Stories. A few other good ones but nothing much.

I know im guilty of it as well in these types of thread but if heads can make an attempt to look at the other albums nominated before posting theirs so we don't start getting multiples. If you're about to list the most obvious/popular ones then chances are it's been listed already.

Also instead of doing 4 rounds ill most likely do 2 rounds where heads can list their Top 10. The point system will be similar, just instead of 5 points for 1st place it'll be 10 points for 1st, 9 for 2nd, etc, etc, etc. Once we get to the finals it'll be the usual point system with users choosing their Top 5. Four rounds seemed to be overkill when we did 2007 so this just condenses it a little bit.

Just did a quick count and after clipping the doubles listed it looks like we got 100 albums or so listed already lulz.

But yea i think 2 rounds, Top 10, which i think Weather might've suggested or something along those lines, works best.

Maybe ill just make the cutoff tomorrow night at this rate. I mean lets be honest, any album that'd be nominated past tomorrow night isn't going to win the AOTY anyway.

how did you decide on 2003 anyway, are you purposely trying to get the weaker years out of the way or is that just a coincidence? or are you both just going backwards 4 years with gino starting at 2007 and clock starting at 2003? i think the rest of the 2000s threads will be more interesting than these two.

it was good for its time, but hasn't aged very well.

it's extremely wordy, the beats are just ok, and just the overall vibe of the album doesn't interest me much anymore.

might just be me then, i think 2000-2002 and 2004-2006 are all stronger years. it would be harder for me to narrow them down to a top 10.

the 90s yrs are gonna be much better just cuz its gonna be less than 100 albums to sift thru. plus not nearly as much ughh randomness. but im sure a few dickheads here will post a ton of forgotten 90s albums those yrs just cuz they re mortgaged ther house to buy an original copy on discogs.

You could be right about them other years, I haven't looked back yet to see.

You might have to give us some time to go back through some of these albums to be sure they were actually as good as we remember.
