Damn I also recognize the sample on Fire...ah I can hear the other track in my head right now. I wanna say some west coast shit.

After listening to the whole album I would have to say good not great. I like the laid back minimal vibe, but would have liked to hear at least one or two bangers like on Daily Bread, Trophies, etc. At least one.

I sort like the Afu-Ra track more haha. Like I said previously, Apollo kept the original sample more intact.

I would have liked to hear a few bangers too, aeokq....but I think with Apollo's tracks like that they all tend to sound very similar and that just wouldn't have fit on this project. asia brought so much heat that I just enjoyed listening to him rip apart minimalist beats.

duffles has the same sample as metal lungies I believe....

I don't think a banger would fit well on this album. It would throw off the overall vibe and be out of place. To be honest, I was hoping there would be a bunch of bangers on this album and when I first heard it I was pissed. But after a few listens I'm really starting to like it.

AB is very hit or miss to me but...safe to say this is really good. I only didnt like the 2 or 3 songs that re used popular samples, everything else sounds excellent and very polished as usual with ab (and pa)

I agree that this album is really good. All of my gripes with it don't prevent me from recognizing it's good. Planet Asia brings it but I do agree his hooks often leave something to be desired. Content wise this doesn't cover much ground but the lyricism on display and overall sound is undeniably dope. The minimalist approach doesn't bother me as long as the beats still create a vibe which these do. But Apollo Brown albums all have the same 2 issues to me. Re-using popular samples and adding a fake vinyl crackle as a signature. If an actual record has a crackle, fine but adding it to the whole project gives it a phony feel to me. I know its intended to play as part of his sound but I also find it to be an unnecessary distraction. All that said this is something I intend to purchase when the CD becomes available.

Well what can we say?
Its nothing short of pure wackiness.
For almost 2 decades planet asia has been giving his fans a low quality form of music that can be enveloped by casual fans of the genre who have never put their ear to greater music such as drake, Gucci mane or future.

Lit Jagger you should have been jizz in a condom. fucking idiot.

Beats are pretty boring. You need doper music samples and/or more going on if you wanna do a full album of chill drum less/minimal drum beats. Some of asias subject matter is weak too. Fake static on all the songs is a weak fake move too.

3/5 album.

Apollo is pretty consistent but his formulas getting old.

Asia isnt that great at pocking beats.
