Staley was probably the biggest loss imo. I think he still had a lot of good music to make if he didn't die. Also saddest death.

Andy Wood probably wins for most wasted potential. At least we got several albums from Staley, and Cantrell was really the brains behind that operation.

i always kind of thought of the first few releases of AIC and SG as more metal then grunge and they just kind of got put in that category because of them being from the pacific NE.They definitely went on to become more grunge-ish.

Cornell had the best vocal talent.
But I liked the output from Staley more & Weiland too.

Mother Love Bone - I haven't heard them in forever and never had much interest.I think I remember them being kinda of glam rockish,which is horrible.

Shannon Hoon i never really listened to,wasn't that just some hippy type thing?

Don't know who Nowell is.

Kurt Cobain owns it.

Kurt IMO.

Billy Corgan (far from my favorite) is notable but he's still alive.
