The draw itself wasn't controversial. The only thing controversial was the 118-110 scorecard. I had it a draw 114-114. Canelo landed the cleaner power shots throughout the fight and had the better defense. I also felt Canelo controlled the fight. He fought in the center when he wanted to, fought off the ropes when he wanted to, came forward at times, he did what he wanted. Canelo's problem was his stamina. After letting his hands go, he often had to take breaks. This is when GGG did his damage. GGG landed more jabs and came forward. He landed 2 super right hands, 1 good left hook, and 1 good uppercut. I don't think either of them did enough to win the fight.

^^^ false info, If canelo did what triple GGG did the fight the paid off judges would have had it alll 118-110 and maybe even 119-109. all 3 judges were paid off thats a fact not an opinion. Dude walked canelo the fuck down ALL fight landed the same amount of power punches dominated with the jab.

how did canelo control the fight when he was running for dear life?? what a stupid and backwards way to interrupt the rules.

canelo did not do waht he wanted because if he did he would have not got out landed by a wide margin and he would have not lost so many rds. stop falling for the glamour name shit cause he lost fair and square. canelo fans clinging to this bullshit 6-6 7-5 when the fight oculd have gone 8-4 to GGG 7-5 the worst from a biased judge on the payroll.

Thats not GGG fault canelo had no stamina and dint throw enough and canelo should not be credited for just making thru 12 and not getting outlanded by 100 instead of 50 and not losing 10 out of 12 instead of losing 8 out of 12.

There is a mistaken belief among many boxing fans that just because a boxer is coming forward he should be scored more favorably. Why should Canelo, who moved up from 147, stand toe to toe with GGG, who has been at 160 his whole career? Did you watch Haglar-Leonard? Leonard-Duran II? Ali-Liston I and II? Etc. Step your boxing knowledge up son. The fight could have been scored 7-5 GGG, 6-6, or 7-5 Canelo.

and There is a mistaken belief among many boxing fans that just because a boxer is running away and missing he should be scored more favorably.

canelo is not 147 and was struggling to make weight at 154 now so the middle move was gonna happen thats why I never complained about the wait for the fight like everyone else. the problem is if fighters are coming forward not landing and not winning rds and GGG was landing and winning rds.

yea saw hagler leonard and hagler was robbed in that fight too by a rigged judge also.

u gonna sit there argue like a bitch ass motherfucker as if canelo has not been given the most outragous scorecards of this era??? foh u have no credibility then

stand toe to toe with GGG??? when did that happen? yea he exchanged when forced in spurts but toe to toe fuck no

dont call me fucking son cause im your dad u child

Son, Canelo started at 147, then moved up to 154, and then to 160. That's what I meant by moved up from 147. Never said he stood toe to toe. Go back and read... son.

I do think ggg did enough to earn a decision, although a draw is an acceptable result. canelo did land the cleaner crisper shots, but he just didnt land them often enough to win the rounds. they were too few and far between. and he got hit more often in return. being lazy laying on the ropes without firing back. its not like ggg was not landing shots, even tho they werent as impressive as canelo's. also, this is a clearly diminished ggg and a prime canelo. canelo needs to figure some shit out. both guys have incredible chins too holy shit.

Rewatch it. You'll see Canelo was in complete control. He just didn't have the stamina to close the deal.

Also, I don't think it's a clearly diminished GGG. His opposition wasn't good until his fight with Jacobs. If he moved up in weight he would lose because his skill isn't great. His advantage is no one can hurt him at 160, but he can hurt them. He has a great jab and good timing though.

I said it in one the past boxing threads months ago that if the fight went the distance Canelo would automatically win.

So when it came out a draw,I was floored.

That said the chick judge's #s were pretty skewed.

If I'm GGG I'm kind of amazed at getting the draw and the possible re-match pay cheque because the fight will be anticipated & hyped.

If he steps down the level of his opposition, you'll see that GGG power again. Jermall Charlo would have a great shot at beating GGG. Too bad he's with Showtime.

Ggg threw a lot more punches but it was mainly weak jabs. Canelo landed the harder shots and was more efficient. There were a lot of close rounds 118-110 is ridiculous but I think ggg winning or a draw is fair. Canelo definitely didn't win

i'm not sure how you can say "complete control" when ggg birddog'd tha fuk out of him.

he was not in control. that is a fact. he was gassed. why wasn't he showboating in the mid to latter rounds like in the earlier. he is young, in his prime and should have won. ggg never let up. as soc said a draw was an acceptable result but to say canelo tha cinnamon was in complete control makes you sound like byrd.

Watched it again, scored it 115-113 GGG. Canelo just got outworked in a close fight. GGG was just relentless with that jab. He's also a little more crafty than I give him credit for; however, Canelo is the superior boxer. Canelo needs to work on his conditioning so he can up his punch output in the rematch.

I never said "COMPLETE control". I said he was controlling the fight. Meaning he dictated the pace of the fight. Complete control implies domination.

That was something I noticed 2 when watching Canelo.

No offense to the person that said Cinnamon was controlling the ropes but he absoultely wasn't.He wasn't doing any sort of "rope-a-dope" technique, he was just dead tired.

And it's not a first time thing, that's been a big problem for him.Is it the his camp's fault ? If not then If I was GBE I'd take him him to some Dr's and get him checked out.If the first one doesn't find anything wrong with him then I'm getting more & more opinions.

Physically he's in/coming into his prime. There's no reason for him to get worn out that quickly.

I remember there was a fighter that physically kept falling apart. His people took him to a doctor and they found out that he was allergic to like 1/2 the typical fighter diet (steaks, eggs, milk)they had been feeding him. They adjusted the diet and he was fine.

Andre Ward retires ?!!!?!?!!?!? What ?

I didn't see that coming.Maybe he's trying to set up a pay day like Jay-Z coming out of retirement but I can't imagine what that would be.

I mean he cleared out 2 divisions.Wonder what he'll do now ?He's got money but does he have money like that ? I don't care,it's really none of my business.

This flew under my radar - Joseph Parker finally left down under & is going to kill Hughie Fury today - I'm really psyched.

nah ollie - I honestly can't admit it if I don't think it.

can't wait until Luis Ortiz vs. Deontay Wilder.

King Kong is finally getting his shot.Everyone was just putting up the risk vs.reward situation and basically admited they were dodging Ortiz.

This opportunity is long overdue for Luis.

Did not see Parker/Fury going the distance coming.I think I might have overrated Parker.

Maybe this is why he stayed home all this time in NZ and was knocking down tomato cans.

He won and he should have but I expected alot more out of him.

He's still pretty young and I think Fury's length gave him trouble. If I were him I wouldn't be thinking about names like Anthony Joshua yet.

Parker is in a weird place now considering he has a belt.Haye ?Stiverne ? Bellew ? Pulev ? Whyte ?

Daniel Dubois doesn't have the track record right now or any notable wins(dude is really green & raw but his power is crazy, watch out for him)
