posted Tuesday, November 03, 2009 1:15:39 PM you faggots need to learn music theory. .........
In music, dissonance is the quality of sounds which seems "unstable", and has an aural "need" to "resolve" to a "stable" consonance. Both consonance and dissonance are words applied to harmony, chords, and intervals and by extension to melody, tonality, and even rhythm and metre. Although there are physical and neurological facts important to understanding the idea of dissonance, the precise definition of dissonance is culturally conditioned — definitions of and conventions of usage related to dissonance vary greatly among different musical styles, traditions, and cultures. Nevertheless, the basic ideas of dissonance, consonance, and resolution exist in some form in all musical traditions that have a concept of melody, harmony, or tonality.
Additional confusion about the idea of dissonance is created by the fact that musicians and writers sometimes use the word dissonance and related terms in a precise and carefully defined way, more often in an informal way, and very often in a metaphorical sense ("rhythmic dissonance"). For many musicians and composers, the essential ideas of dissonance and resolution are vitally important ones that deeply inform their musical thinking on a number of levels.
Despite the fact that words like "unpleasant" and "grating" are often used to explain the sound of dissonance, in fact all music with a harmonic or tonal basis — even music which is perceived as generally harmonious — incorporates some degree of dissonance. The buildup and release of tension (dissonance and resolution), which can occur on every level from the subtle to the crass, is to a great degree responsible for what many listeners perceive as beauty, emotion, and expressiveness in music.

posted Tuesday, November 03, 2009 1:38:44 PM no....none of my low ends are dissonant. Only my high end of EACH sample.
"Consonance has been defined variously through: With ratios of lower simple numbers being more consonant than those which are higher...."
Every sample I using in this piece, and I use 10, has conssonat low in bases and tenor registors. MY high ends are discordant. I do that for all my music that seems out of tune.
You know its true.

posted Tuesday, November 03, 2009 4:00:13 PM suchanec.... i just been listening to a lot of hardbop and fusion jazz lately. You know, like Charles Mingus, Miles, Thelonious. Dissonance is standard in those genres. The first thing you n*ggaz say is..."oh, thats out of tune, that sounds bad" You got to realize something doesn't sound bad simply because it is out of tune. Something sounds bad because it is not good music. I've came to this conclusion. You people don't like it simply because it is out of tune. But I intentionally created that discordant and it always resolves.
My music is just ahead of its time. I undertand if you don't like it. Experimentation is not for the simple.

posted Tuesday, November 03, 2009 4:46:28 PM If you're so ahead of your time, how come you're trying to imitate the stuff you listen to? It sounds bad because it's jumbled, mixed horribly and a poor choice of instruments/samples in addition to it being out of tune.
You can be an elitist "my music is good because it only appeals to people who choose to listen to it", like you are.. and still make garbage beats. There's a reason almost every review you have had ever on this board says that your mixes are bad. And it's not because anyone is simple..

posted Tuesday, November 03, 2009 10:22:38 PM the problem with cats on this board is that they are so busy concerned with mixing and convention. My shit is rugged like rza on dmt niccaz. I am concerned with concepts first. I could always so down the street and pay a n*gga 25$ to mix my shit. But musicianship is what makes good music. If the musicianship is not there you will never get good. No matter how good your mix is.

posted Wednesday, November 04, 2009 7:47:19 AM suchanec you are such a dumbass. Rza use to be ALL off key. You just don't know rza. Actually, ALL good music break chord and scale structure. Perfect consonance is synonymous with happy gay music. Dissonance is synonymous with dark, grime shit. That is why you music sounds so wack. Because you try to use perfect consonance. I know, i've studied this shit all my life. Why do you think there are pentatonic scales and how do you think jazz scales were introduced. You are proving you know nothing about music.
Yeah, I could make a beat like this which sons anything you are capable of doing...
...or I could make a extremely conventional be like this...
...but get what? I am not playing it safe. I am experiement. Your whole stance is make the shit on key? My question is WHY?
In addition.... a lot of people like my shit. Even if it is experimental.

You have to really bang some shit out to make me want to listen to an out of tune orchestration, this one was decent, but just didn't take it there for me, liked datn*gga's beats better, sorry to say, and that was just some experimental shit I would imagine, anyway don't give up, and don't try to convince me of your greatness...the work speaks for itself.
