And no I don’t mean “a taxi” hahah….i mean the service that helps you place music, etc. Did you have any luck with getting actual placements? Did you feel it was useful for getting placements for underground/cinematic type hip hop? Please offer any input you have on this..thanks in advance.

if you really want to get paid off beats, i think it's best to represent yourself, you have a lot more freedom and it doesn't cost anything. plus most cats i deal with don't sweat clearing samples, although i lost a spot on a Nike Skateboarding vid because the clearance cost for a sample was like 10,000 bucksPartial IP: 53.229.131 |

they accept sampled stuff, but they put you in a category and suggest how much the beat is worth. You can sell it for how ever much you want, but keep in mind that if your really sample heavy u'll only get mixtape placements and an underground audience. They work with A&Rs and you can definitely get major placements, but you gotta have your own style meaning you created the beats from playing all your stuff.Partial IP: .118.229.7 |

there's the site pmpworldwide which is for urban only.
costs a grip to sign up but a&r's put the projects they are working on and you can submit songs to them which they listen to after the track dump closes.
It's a toss up if it is worth it. people do get placements from it but if your tracks aren't going to stand above the other people on the site then it might not be worth the 400.00
Also, you can't expect that just because you sign up for it you are going to get placements. This is just one avenue, probably the last, that a&r's use to find songs.
Also, it helps to have full songs or tracks with finished hooks to shop so you separate yourself from everyone who just makes beats.
a&r's do browse through it besides track dumps though which is good. I dont really submit to track dumps or even update songs and I've had a&r's come to me through the site for tracks for major albums so it isn't just the submit and pray type of deal if you have the product.
pricey and a toss up if it is worth it, but it is an avenue to what you want to do.Partial IP: .183.42.50 |
