has fuckin gone to shit.
it has to be said.
I'll back Funcrush Plus and Cold Vein, even Fantastic Damage to a point, but these new faggots... Copywrite especially (and i'm not an esoteric dick rider, or even a fan). I really hope Can O did get off that label, because it when from fuckin real to fuckin nerd in about two seconds. I feel like i'm chokin off the raw testosterone from cold vein every time i'm listening to it (in a good way), but i also feel like i'm chokin off the whiny, conceeded, faggot bitch want's to be cool, testosterone when i hear copywrites rhymes (or read his fuckin self love on message boards). Anyway i've said my piece.
and also, i heard esoteric make a little remark about Cannibal Ox in his runaway track.
Hope Canibus and C-Rayz jump in this beef too.
weathermen suck? you think breezly brewin sucks?
haven't heard the new c-rayz.
el-p's fantastic damage was horrible.
rjd2's lp was aight, nothing i'd pay for though.
mr.lif's i phantom coulda been dope. lif holds it down on the mic, but he's gotta stick with gettin beats from fakts one insteada wack-ass el-p.
cannibal ox--really ain't feelin deez guys.
s.a. smash--one of the worst albums to drop this decade.
all of the weathermen--completely suck, with the exception of jakki the motamouth.
word is bon jovi.
c-rayz is ill, ravipops is the 2nd best album of the year (go get sin-o matic)
lif is dope too. i phantom proves that
copyweezy is on ecrecs
eso would rip vast aire
canibus got nada to do w/ this
el-p's beats are too abstract
funcrusher plus is classic
copywrite is definitely not on def jux. dude didnt know what the fuck he was talkin about. opinion is always null and void when you dont know what the fuck youre talkin about.
c rayz walz is dope as hell but "ravipops" dont come close to being as good as "limelight" his non def jux album. i dont im on and off with just , what the fuck does canibus have to do with this though
Def Jux is far from the most talented record label....... All Natural Inc. , ABB, 7 Heads, Counterflow, and Botanica del Jibaro are just as good or better than the Jukies and that's my Word!!
Yeah I'm definately gonna disagree with the Mr Lif statement. I think I phantom was one of my favorite albums of last year easy. It's better to listen to the whole album in order cause it tells a story.....
...can we getta reply to what Canibus and CopyWrite haveta do wit DefJux...????
...cuz im kinda confused..neither are on the label..im positive of that...
::students aint returnin to their class or worried if they pass..cuz they learnin more from me..than they learn in their class//WordsWorth::
the jukies would never die
Theres more....but I couldnt forget
He's gotta be Dooms son on the dl, I swear.
C Rayz is a favorite of mine, I think Ravipops is mad underated
Lets break it down a bit...
Def Jux is the most talented record label as of late
Murs = Good True Hip Hop mostly dope beats, some skipable. This guy has mad energy, his live shows are nice.
RJD2 = Dope.... 90% success rate
Aesop.....I personally like his style, take it for what its worth. His music is constantly evolving, stop hating on bazooka and labor days, If he were to release Float today, it would be a flop (IMO), but its nice.
El Producto = A Musician, I love Fantastic Damage, and most anything he's in charge of. Its not a "spacey galaxy" theme, thats a whole unique style......... Iron Galaxy was just your first dose of this style.
Can Ox = The Best "1st Lp" in the UG to date, I listen to this more and more as time goes on, I will listen to this for years. I remember not liking it when I first heard it.......I even talked mad shit about it.......but Now I cant deny how dope it is.......Vast is clever and original (would you want him to sound like anyone else??) Vordul can ride an El-P beat better than anyone. He is a rapper, and good at it.
Now that I got the goods out of the way
Smashy Trashy = I see what they were going for, but I didnt go for it. There was a few head bobbin cruisin tracks, but some were a little to..........empty
Mr Lif = This will probably be the most hated on statement I make. I think most new Mr Lif material is shit. I thought I Phantom was garbage.... once again, I SEE what he's going for, but to me it was trying to hard instead of trying to do what comes naturally. "enter the" was pretty good. I still throw that on a every now and again.
PFAC = Not bad.....I definately laughed a few times (Which is what I believe they were going for), but no replay value whatsoever.
Very true pigshit..For the people just getting into Def Jux, it'll be a real treat..
And for those lucky listeners, by the time they do get tired of the repitive themes, they'll probably have something new..So those kids won't have to wait too long for dope material..
But us on the other hand are in a different boat..We just gotta pray El-P has a new idea soon, so we get something to listen to..
..the fuk do Canibus & CopyWrite have anythinta do wit DefJux anyways?!?!..
::lookin in the mirror..introducin me to myself..i studied my thoughts..my ways..the routes i took..tho i read daily..it aint all about the books..it's all about the lessons you learn..thru your experience..applyin it inna positive way..period//Binary Star::
..one of the best releases of the year...dont sleep youngins::
::i disgrace clowns who make frowns//C-Rayz Walz::
lots of kids are still feeling all that shit because theyre just getting into it. it just gets old. def jux will do just fine as long as theres still white people.
i think that Lif sounded better on Speech Cobras from Violent By Design than on anything from I Phantom.
Just cause Stoupe's production compliments his flow better than any of the beats on I Phantom. But of course that's just one artist. El-p matched Vast Aire and Vordul perfectly, but murs? all the aesop tracks produced by El-p had nice beats, but it wasn't the same, and then aesop went and did them himself (too ashamed to go back to blockhead?). I haven't heard C-Rayz's yet. Rip The Jacker had some pretty shit beats, to go off topic. Most of them were good, a couple were excellent, but it did have a few really shitty ones (what's with the chipmunk singin stoupe?)
Peanut Butter Wolf keeps it real with Stones Throw though.
I think El-P is way too in control of Def Jux..Everything has a slight resemblence of Cold Vein...
That galaxy spacey theme is killing me..It was dope from a conceptual aspect on the Cold Vein, but seriously, need to get off that tip now..
I think Bazooka Tooth is dope and the only thing on Def Jux worth getting..
Not a big fan of C-Rayz, Can-O is horrible at best now..Murs is trash..Copy has fallen off big time..He's not even fun to listen to anymore..
I don't know, I used to think Def Jux would be the most elite label in the UG..They were signing dope ass prospects and really making a name for themselves..Maybe they got comfy and don't have the hunger as much??
Who knows..Whatever though, they keep doing their thing..I wish that the clarity doesn't have to be so grimy..It just screams out El-P engineering, everytime I put on a Def Jux song..That's my biggest gripe with the Def Jux material..
did i miss something...when did copywrite end up at def jux...
he dropped his solo lp on eastern conference...
