I agree with tgodd on J-Live - Epilogue (one of my favorite tracks lyric-wise)
For the intro use Ice-T's intro to home invasion that shit will get people listening

i don't know, it depends how old they are, everyone i've played dance with the devil for is like "holy fuck."
Slap sum K-OS on dem bums and fuck em up.
Or if they don't like your presentation, have a redo and play akinyele put it in your mouth
Dance With The Devil by Immortal Technique
good choice but i dont think that they would be ready for that song
it's school right?
well first of all you gotta play intelligent shit to start off to wipe the sterotypes that come w/ hip hop outta people's minds. Start with something like I Used to Love HER by Common, Epilogue by J-Live, or Dance With The Devil by Immortal Technique. Play something by The Coup because they tackle almost every social issue there is (play Coup by The Coup if you can find it, or play Dig It). Whether you like def jux or not, i think you should pop in some Can-O later on too. Weapon World by Prince Paul f. Kool Keith is good.
Lots of ppl immediately pass on underground before hearing it if their fans of mainstream hip hop, so play Wax Paper by J-Live or something off Violent By Design or VOG (or Get This Low (1st cat's flow is fuckin crazy on this song, anyone know who he is?) and Last Straw (One Soul Remix) from psycho-social, if you can find them) to keep their ignorant asses happy.
Then i'd say some DITC. Big L, O.C., Show & A.G., diamond d, you know, i don't have to list em all.
Tribe. Souls of Mischief, Main Source. Public Enemy. Anything from hip hops golden age of early 90's or late 80's. Every song off Illmatic is ill, so play the one you like most.
Don't forget The Message by Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.
Rockbox by Run-DMC.
Possibly Mama Said Knock You Out By LL, but Follow the Leader by Eric B & Rakim would show em crazy lyrics.
Some Cormega or Mobb Deep to keep those mainstream cats happy (everyone mainstream knows mega).
Black Star. Gang Starr. Black Moon.
Then you could play some dj tracks, something off Return Of the DJ possibly. Definately play Rockit (explain how it inspired so many deejays, since most ppl won't really like its old school vibe).
Finish with The Revolution Will Not Be Televised by Gil Scott-Heron, maybe some John Coltrane, just to show where hip hop gets its roots.
I don't know, that's what i'd do.
A.L. - Lyrics
Black star- Respiration
Shabazz and Arsonists- Scan the fields
i had to do a powerpoint project last year and i did it on hip hop culture and i had them 3 playing during it.
pop tribe called quest-midnight marauders into the player, this album, in my opinion, is the epitome of true hip hop. props to all who mentioned common's I used to love her, this track exemplifies the beauty of hip-hop, because in its truest form no other music genre tells a story like hip-hop with political and social consciousness. they ain't gonna hear that on flow dawg, they have to reach out for the underground...
Today Was A Good Day
tribe called quest-scenario (original or remix)
reflection eternal-africa dream
j live - schools in
to me the best musical essay on hiphop..
Roots-What they do
Anything from the Jigmastas
J-Live-Nights like this
Lyrics Born-Beach Balcony
Blackalicious-Feel that way
Play some 2 Live Crew just to offend your teacher and the stuck up bitches in your class.
nwa "fuck tha police"
cool song because sometimes people forget how much it is their duty to hate police. this is a reminder.
isnt drama for fags?????
