The Problem With The 'new' Jedi Mind Tricks
The main problem I have see with this album is that the content has changed. It used to be about diverse, scientific and retrospective ways in talking about the world. This has changed for this album, instead its been replaced with a one-way view on the world through the eyes of Islam (I think Vinnie Pas must have converted after the first two albums). This killed it for me, I'm not a religious person, but I can imagine for the fans that are. They might be put off JMT for this very reason. There is quite a lot of Catholic/Christian/God bashing in this album. I always though that in religion, people learnt to respect other religions/people even if they didn't understand it/them...but I guess I am wrong.
a: Religious based
2. TIBETAN BLACK MAGICIANS
a: I'm a born Lord, I was baptised, to see the universe through a Caths's eyes, here come the black skies, it's all darkness, I breath life in your Jesus Christ carcass
b: *Two other references to religion during the remaining of the track*
3. BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT
a: Religious based intro to the song
b: I'm the one who put the nail in the cross, I'm the one who told the world about an alien corpse
You just a heathen and you lie like the church do, I cant believe that Allah is a curse to
d: I'm being facetious, you should heed this, I'm the one who hammered the first nail in Jesus
e: We like heavy metal, listening to Seputura, remain calm study Islam
f: *Several references to God/Allah during the remaining of the track*
6. ANIMAL RAP
a: Bust a motherf***in' gat to this, ya'll believe lies like ya was Catholics
7. NADA CAMBIA
a: I see you looking at me sideways daddy, thats your first mistake, die at the cross for Christ baby, burn at the stake. You learn it too late, you too concerned with the fake, too concerned with the Lord, thats why you turned the cheek
8. A STORM OF SWORDS
a: Its animal rap, cannibal rap that we made, I hate ya'll, hate Lord, hate Jee. I hate everything you stand for its fake, cos' anyone that buys into Lord is a day late.
10. THE WOLF
a: The street is Vietnam, I'm like Jesus trying to complete a psalm, I believe in Islam, heed is completely gone.
b: My enemies fit, to face Palestine
12. RISE OF THE MACHINES
a: I'm running up in your church to smack crosses
14. KUBLAI KHAN
a: Every word from Allah is on paper, we all hate ya, we cant stand you, Chapter 8 verse 3 book of Daniel, you like a candle, you just burn, you never worship Allah, you cant learn.
Beats are as good as they always have been, you can always expect that from Stoupe and JMT. Lyrics seem a little over the top and opinionated too much of the time, the foundation that JMT once had seems to have drifted away. The other featured artists on the album are definatly on top of things inc. Kool G Rap, Planetary, Canibus, I'll Bill and Tradgy Khadfi
So I leave it to you, has MT changed too much? ...I just hope MT can get back to what they did best, give us music and not a preaching lesson! If you do, let us know...we'll be on Violent By Design until you do.
only on forums.
Jedi Mind is spent. This is as big as they'll ever be.
i like the album....but,
vinnie is 90% delivery, 10% content. i dont think this is unintentional.
i agree, some of stoupe's beats are a little over produced, sometimes it's hard to hear the mc over the beat.
too many gest spots. they got like what 2 cuts thats just paz.
too many interludes. intros, outros, whatever.
raw is war 2003. these are vocals from another song, any1 else notice that? i've got the 12"
all in all a pretty dope cd. i think the fact it was sooooo overhyped b4 it droped is part of why ppl hate on it. VBD kind of came out of nowhere and was a runaway hit. & some cats STILL dont even have psycho social.( i think VBD is the best of the 3) still better than ALOT of shit out there.
^^^^I disagree. My man just said that he new nothing about Islam, and from the references, nothing about Christianity either. I think he just sounds convincing to people that know nothing about religion. Personally i've always thought JMT was 1 point from wack...thats just me though.
vinnie paz is very controdictive on everything. i dont even know what religion he follows any more but its clear he is very clever and knows about alot religion and myths and stuff. but his just wording it all wrong, the vbd style was perfect i thought
hopefully vinnie paz on the army of pharoahs album will just use his old type of lyrics about gods and myths kinda thing, i cant stand some of the lyrics on VOG, some off the lines are just terrible and put me off the song e.g. the whole of "nada cambia"
The problem for this album is, too many haters... if u dont like it, good for u, fuck off then dont take time which u obviousley have and proves u have no life to point out why an artist has flaws, i dont see u putting out anything better than Vinnie so keep ur hating to ur self.
Hopefully JMT will redeem themselves with the army of the pharoahs album.
"This has changed for this album, instead its been replaced with a one-way view on the world through the eyes of Islam (I think Vinnie Pas must have converted after the first two albums)."
This album had nothing, has nothing and will never have any form of connection to Islam.
I am a Muslim and have analyzed this guy's stuff and it's beyond the limits of Islamic
methodology. First off, if he was a true Muslim, why in the world is he making stupid statements about Jesus (Peace be upon him) when in Islam he considered as a great Prophet ? Secondly, his poor attempt at trying to drop knowledge makes look like a blasted jackass. "I'm like Jesus trying to complete a psalm." The Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon him) had nothing to do with the Psalms. That was King / Prophet David (Peace be upon him.) If he's studying Islam as he claims he does, then why didn't he remember this ayah from the Qur'an:
"We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms." - The Noble Qur'an (Surah 4: Ayah 163.)
I thought he was studying Islam ? So how did he miss the clear, cut evidence that the Psalms were given to King / Prophet David (Peace be upon him.)
If anything, Vinnie Paz is not practicing the path of submission charted out in the Qur'an but rather some twisted combination of the Nuwabi ideology and the 5 Percenter ideology which breaks down the Arabic word for GOD, ALLAH, into Arm Leg Leg Arm Head. So whenever he says ALLAH, he's mentioning himself. Utter blasphemy. I seek ALLAH's refuge from the ignorant trying to masquerade nonsense as the truth. PEace !
Every Verse From Vinnie Sounds Exactly The Same. The Beats Are Good But In My Opinion Not As Better As They Were On VBD. Vinnie Just Got Lazy As Fuck, And You Can Tell By This Album.
I would pick up this album but after hearing VBD again, I decided against it. JMT are one of them groups where you could just make 1 good album out of a bunch of their songs, the rest is filler shit.
Damn, I can't disagree with him as far as catholics are concerned though. Christianity is full of some nasty holes.
oh, and religious based music is faggy
Jabba The Hut?
ya'll believe lies like ya was Catholics
i find it funny that chubby boy says that when he think's he's muslim
at least get the lyrics right and practice that spelling before you post a long ass critique of the album
(title of song is religion based)
"rolled into the vatican strangled the pope with his rosary"
just one of many examples. the reason jedi mind isnt as good is because (i've said this a million times i'll say it once more)
1. JUS ALLAH IS GONE personally i thought he was better than paz. if anything he at least balanced out the tracks, paz can't hold it down by himself
2. STOUPE'S BEATS ARE OVERPRODUCED his beats are still good, but not as good as they were. he bought better equipment and cleaned up the sound, bad move.
paz is a contradictory mafucka.
That pic is hilarious..
no one cares. their wack
