Mars Volta - De Loused In The Comatorium Lp
So does anyone here know whats REALLY good? This is the best rock album to come out this year..fuck a white stripe radiohead...(nah, jk). To make this hip-hop related, Rick Rubin produced the album and 2 of the members in this group used to be in a group called At the Drive which was signed to Beastie Boys now defunct label Grand Royal.
So my question to y'all that are familiar with the group, name the rap groups/mc's that you are also into (i better not see atmosphere and northern state..lol)..i'm trying to see how eclectic the tastes on this board are..feel free to name drop any other good music too.
what the hell are you talking about Shadow_Master
tool fucking sucks, maynard has some of the worst lyrics in rock. and all his fans go on and on about how his lyrics are just too complex... haha.. riight
and staind? are you retarded? that cry me a river bullshit sucks
If you think there's no good rock out there, you're a moron, timmy. You've expressed moronic opinions here anyway though, this is just another example.
A Perfect Circle
Queens Of The Stone Age
wanna get a little older...
Staind (1st album)
That's just off the dome.
Damn, is that a picture of TMV's live act? I'm goin to see them at Roseland in NYC on the 24th, I'm amped.
beyond the anthills of, beyond the anthills oooooooooooof....
i still haven't heard all of the mars volta but i doubt it's better than httt.
i have relationship of command (the best at the drive in album) and love it but it doesn't come close to any radiohead album ('cept maybe pablo honey) in my opinion.
so from what i've heard of the mars volta it's very good, maybe even great but no httt.
other than Radiohead and Coldplay, most rock music isnt that, Radiohead and Coldplay are beyond amazing, but shit like metallica, pearl jam, nirvana etc is beyond trash
Best Non Hip-Hop disc I have bought this year is either Fountains of Wayne or Beyonce.
Mars Volta, Radiohead... Dont do it for me.
I've been tryin to rep the Mars on this board but to no avail. Good to see some other peeps not sleepin'. Hip Hop wise, I'm your average Mid -late nineties fan...Hiero, Pharcyde, DITC, ATCQ, De La, Reflection...Nowadays I'm into alot of instumental shit..Prefuse 73, Shadow, Amon Tobin, RJD2, Kid Koala...Other band Im feelin'...Pinkback, The Fire Theft, No Knife type ish.
they say their biggest influence is the prog rock/jazz band kraan. but we all know its the pink floyd's,led zepplin's,and santana's(like you said)
This damn albums been in my cd player for months now. By far album of the year. In the rap game, I like the roots, talib kweli, fugees, mos def, outkast, dilated, j5 and others. Everything else, I dig kosheen (damn good), led zep, jimi hedrix, santana (mars volta was def influenced by them), massive attack, portishead, alice in chains, kruder and dorfmeister (sp?), roni size, everything. And to the people, PICK THIS ALBUM UP. No joke, Mars Volta aint nothin to fuck with!
