'-' SOME SIMPLE QUESTIONS ABOUT MPC'S '-'
Which Is Best To Purchase, Seperate Sampler And Drummachine, Or Combined Like For Example An MPC?
And Do One Have To Have A Computer To Use A MPC?
Thanks To Anyone Who Can Answer One Or Both Of These Q's
As far as on-board sounds go, you can choose to use them or not. They are actually pretty good, and if they don't cut it, oyu can buy/sample more. This machine is the best choice for the money if you want a table top sampler/synth/sequencer. It's a fact. Go to their websites and compare stats.
JUST BECAUSE THIS MACHINE HAS A FOLLOWING, DOESEN'T MEAN IT'S THE BEST.

I Asked About The Q ________Do You Have To Have A Computer To Work The MPC________
Because I've Heard That There Isn't Any In Built-Sounds In Them, And One Have To Load Down Drumkits Through A CD-Rom Or Some Ish?
Aight, Thanks Once Again, Much Appreciated
I HAVE AN MPC 2000, A KORG TRITON, AN ROLAND XP-60 AND A FEW OTHER THINGS AND IF YOUR GOING TO MAKE AN INVESMENT IN EQUIPMENT AND YOU HAVE NO EQUIPMENT NOW, I WOULD GET A GOOD SAMPLER WITH QUALITY SOUNDS. FOR EXAMPLE THE KORG TRITON OR A KURZWEIL 2000 (WITH SAMPLER OPTION INSTLALLED). BOTH OF THEM HAVE GOOD SOUNDS AND GOOD SAMPLERS. YOU WON'T NEED ANYTHING FOR A WHILE. THE ONLY THING IS THAT THE SEQUENCER ON THE MPC BLOWS THE SEQUENCERS OF THESE TWO KEYBOARDS OUT THE WATER BUT NO SOUNDS.
I PERSONALLY WOULDN'T GET AN ASRX FOR THE REASON THAT FOR IT'S PRICE OR JUST A LITTLE MORE YOU CAN GET SOMTHING BETTER.
I'D RATHER GET AN MPC 2000 THAT HAS NO SOUNDS THATN ASRX WITH SOUNDS. I HAD AN ASRX AND SOLD IT. IT HAD SOME GOOD FEATURES BUT DIDN'T DO IT.
ALL I SAY IS ASK YOURSELF WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC ARE YOU GOING TO BE WORKING WITH, WHAT SOUND ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AND WHAT'S YOUR BUDGET THEN GO OUT AND DO A LITTLE HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU PUT DOWN BOOKOO MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT WON'T MEET YOUR NEEDS.
The sequencer is superior if you're using it to sequence other instruments since it does have more tracks and more midi channels. But if you're just using the X, pattern mode is just the same. With the exeption of the NOTE REPEAT function. Which is cool but not needed.
I agree with one exception... the MPC's sequencer DESTROYS the ASR-X's... they dont compare... but if you got either you wouldnt need a computer...

To get the most value and options for your money. Get an ASR-X/ASR-X PRO. It'll beat the mpc in just about every aspect, and it's the sameprice. You owe it to yourself, and your wallet, to check it out for yourself.
