I'd like to know what evidence there is for the fact that Mumia's trial was rigged. I saw a 20/20 report that pissed me off because it was so one-sided. They basically gave no information on the Free Mumia movement, made all of the Free Mumia supporters look like idiots who had no idea what they were talking about, accused Ed Asner, who supports the movement, and other famous supporters of just doing this to look tolerant or something like that, and basically said "Mumia is guilty! Fry him!". I want some information on the Mumia incident from the Free Mumia point-of-view.
Bill backing Mumia won't be proposed
- While the Legislature seems intent on celebrating the holiday season with conflict, one controversy now on hold is a measure seeking a new trial for convicted Philadelphia cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.
Rep. James Roebuck, D-Philadelphia, chairman of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus - who initially said he'd offer a House resolution supporting Abu-Jamal today - is backing off, for the moment.
"I just don't have all the pieces together yet," Roebuck said.
He said he still intends to offer the resolution, adding that "in terms of constituent base, I have received universal support."
He denied pressure by colleagues or Philadelphia Mayor-elect John Street to back off the controversial issue.
Roebuck's initial intent was met with surprise by some fellow Democrats who suggest a polarizing issue such as the Abu-Jamal case isn't likely to help Street with the Legislature.
Others questioned Roebuck's timing. Wednesday is the 18th anniversary of Abu-Jamal's crime, the murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, who was shot in the face after stopping Abu-Jamal's brother at 13th & Locust for driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
i thought you wanted him to fry?
guilty or not guilty, the government should not kill him... i don't think guilt can ever be determined w/ 100% accuracy... the closest thing is maybe a confession, but even those can be rigged...
LET THE NIGGER ROTT IN JAIL
hey, i am glad that you are lookin at both sides of the coin kid. if you want the legal reasons for a new trial, his writ of habeus corpus explains his side of the case well.
