Does anybody know what happened to ex-Co-Flow member Big Juss? His solo debut was supposed to drop on 3-2-1 this spring, but he never even put out a 12".
Speaking of Juss, I recall a few of you on UGHH board saying that Juss was a better mc than El-P. Although I don't necessarly agree, I'm curious if others feel the same way and why?
::::: like TOPCAT rocking those tall letters from philly :::::
Micranots are a dope duo out of Atlanta that consist of DJ Kool Akiem and MC Self Divine. You can buy there record at sandbox or urbananthem. Also they were putting out music on there own label before they joined 3-2-1.
And i'm not positive but i'm pretty sure the Big Juss album will be an LP and not an EP. Juss is producing the album himself so i hear.
Big Juss is no longer recording with Company Flow, but he is still down with El-P and Mr. Len, but Juss had to do his own thing.
Yeah, you did--it's been almost year since he left Co-Flow to work on solo album that never happened.
Big Jus? Ex-Co-Flow member? Did I miss something?
Big Juss started his own label, Subverse Music, with some of the ex-3-2-1 people. His album isn't coming out until March (at the earliest b/c it's just not done). The label consists of Rubberroom, Scienz of Life, Micronauts, and Blackalicious. However, I think this label is destined to fail. First, Blackalicious has a deal through Quannum directly with Caroline. Second, Rubberroom is trying to start a label of their own in Chicago (besides the fact that they are wack). Third, Subverse doesn't have distro yet. Fourth, Scienz of Life album is very spacey and is not going to do well. Fifth, who the hell are the Micronauts? Fifth, part b, the Micronauts and Scienz of Life are both trying to start their own labels. And Sixth, Big Juss is the only one people are checking for and he is even done recording his EP (I don't even think it's a whole album).
I heard the same shit as you. He's supposed to drop an album, but he droped off the face of the Earth. Hopefully, it will come out next year and maybe he'll get with Co-Flow again (they ain't complete without him). As for El-P being better than him, I think so. I just dig El-P's lines a lot more, but Juss drops all them ill lines about graphiti that most heads can't even begin to comprehend.
