Why do people produce?
i was thinking of a reson today why i produce and i realized that i have no idea!
see, this is how i feel..i used to think that i did it cause i love music but seriously, when im done with a beat i dont wanna listen to it anymore cause i´ve played it so many times making it... i dont do it for respect and i dont do it to make people feel good either..
im confused as hell.....
I do it in the hope that one day, years from now, I'll have my portrait hanging next to Primo, Marley Marl, Pete Rock, etc. in the Hip-Hop Hall Of Fame's All-Time Illest Producers Section and have access to the lounge of the same name so I can sit back and sip a cold Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi with some fly honies that drool at the sight of my many platinum plaques, and have Dr. Dre offer me some toast straight from the All-Time Illest Producers Deluxe Toaster Oven that each of us has, and to have Puffy and Beats By The Pound as our leg-rests, and include subliminal messages in my beats that you can only hear when you play them backwards that over a period of a few years will eventually wear down the need for freedom in the populace of America, and then when the time is right, I will emerge with a press conference announcing myself dictator, so that all of the millions of people who listened to my beats will become slaves in my cruel army that will crush opposition wherever it may stand... Oh, and I do it for the love, respect, and blah blah blah too.
I agree with Cryptic. Nothing like seeing heads nod to your beat.
I produce becuase it's more than just making a beat for me.
It's my #1 way to channel my emotions be them good or bad. My music has let me do that all my life. Being able to take music that I was brought up on and being able to interpret it through my soul for myself and others to enjoy is what gets me out of bed each morning.
I produce music becuase music produced me...
The BEST feeling in the world is to be at a performance in the crowd while a group you produce is performing... and when the beat drops to see MAD heads nodding, even before lyrics are said.. THAT shit is the ultimate feeling... that split second you realize that this is what its all about...
Or even to be at a spot or listening to the radio and they throw your record on unexpectadly... and for a split second you dont immediatly recognize it as yours (because u werent expecting it) and for that one second you get to enjoy your own music as a 'fan' instead of a creator... this can also happen when u make a beat and then 2 years later you discover a tape of it... and you forgot about the tape, you throw it in and are like "DAMN!! That shit is hot"
Cryptic _ AF
I like the fact that random people come up to me in the halls at school and compliment me on my beat, and emcees all of a sudden are anxious to do a song with me. Not to mention that i hate rockin to other people beats. Then theres the whole creative expression thing.
I like making people smile
I Feel You, But When You Create A Phatass Beat And A Tight Mc Lays Some Lyrics To It
Then It Feels Good, All The Hours Spent On Producing Gives You Something Back
I love sound.
